I can be such an inconsistent person
My neighbor heats his home with a wood stove. Quite like the grasshopper when it comes to planning for the future, meaning of course that he doesn't. Wood stoves work much better if fueled with seasoned wood. Wood that has been hewn, split, stacked & covere...

From Bernie Sanders

countries are considered low-paying. In the ...

Why do people do this?

I don't like to be a pessimist but I really think that we are so screwed
Over half the registered voters stayed home this year. Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference. But now we must brace ourselves for the assumption of power of our Republican overlords.  The party of Nope & Fear. I predict: More restrictions on abortion. Fe...

It's the little accomplishments that make the day brighter
After much hemming and hawing and contemplation, I grabbed the drill and started to work. Had to replace the back porch door knob/latch set. The old set had fallen apart in my hands one day, after years of use. The spindles connecting the inner and outer do...

@ John Adams review: so, you didn't get in to eat at the restaurant, because you didn't want to give up your guns, and they didn't welcome your motorcycles? Well, good for the rest of the world, the ones that don't like the noise of motorcycles, and don't like having to wonder if the person at the next table is carrying a gun. If you hadn't left in a huff and roar, you would have found a wonderful little restaurant that serves the best pizza around. Yes, sometimes you have to wait [and they do have the freedom to decide not to take reservations: your desire to have a guaranteed seat does not trump their right to decide not to be first come/ first served]. But the wait is worth it. Maybe you can check them out now that they've opened a Port Clinton location.

The website needs to be updated: the store is no longer in downtown Marblehead, and no longer has a lake view. That aside, my single quibble about the store is the lack of clear pricing on all products. There are some price labels on the shelf fronts, but often as not, not prices for what's sitting on the shelf above it. I've heard the old saying "If you have to ask the price, then you can't afford to buy it", but that really shouldn't apply to a grocery store, should it?
