That's a good look at Vintage King using a stock Magento install, one page checkout is a better option than the 6 tabs that the Magento stock install offers. Unfortunately for the user unless they are familiar with a billion templates and how to tweak the PHP in them Magento is not very user friendly.
You can do a lot of tweaks using just straight CSS though so they might be able to fix some of the issues with that, but the best route (most profitable) would be to download and install a one page checkout plugin from the Magento Commerce site, and THEN tweak the CSS.
Hey, here's one and the price is right, FREE!! :-) http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/one-page-checkout.html
There are a few paid one page checkout plugins that have higher reviews so you might want to check them out. Additionally, be sure and go through the 'Reviews' tab on Magento commerce, a lot of times you will notice people complaining that something is not working on their version of the cart and if this happens to be the version that you have then you just saved yourself a million little headches, frozen store, etc. Oh, and backup your system before you install anything on Magento!!!
