Asian food (Thai/Vietnamese mostly) catered a bit more on the mild-flavored side. It's a bit pricier than other places, but it is a large space on Union Square. Food: - Pork chop - came pre-sliced, served over a good sized portion if cracked rice, some very lightly cooked scallions, and julianned pickled radish and carrots; Pork chop is pretty tender; Flavored with salt and a little pepper and in the slightly sweet side - Thai ice tea - on the pricier side, for $5 - Curry chicken noodles - extremely light on the curry and any other flavors, If you ask for the hot sauce to add to it, it will be better; it's served with carrots and celery with lo main noodles Ambiance: - a food court-like atmosphere, but you do get seated by the host, and the waiter service is good - they have an open kitchen format at the front, which is nice

Dianna, I'm glad you enjoyed the pork chop and service, but I'm sorry to see the rest of the experience was only average for you. I'll be sure to take a close eye to a few things you mentioned, like the spices and flavor in the curry, so thank you for being so detailed. Overall, it sounds as if we have some room for improvement here, and I hope we'll get the chance to show you how we're putting your feedback into practice someday. -Edward, General Manager

These guys kill it here every day. They work their butts off for you to serve some damn good noodles. My boy Steven really makes this place what it is, good food, great vibes, and most of all the gnarliest spot to chill with your boys.

Thanks for chilling with us, Franco! We're so jazzed you're a fan of it all -- that's music to our ears. Looking forward to welcoming you back for more noodles soon. Take care, Edward, General Manager

Great selection of Asian noodles and soups. Not cheap food, but standard prices for the quality and location. Huge, cafeteria-like room. Luckily when I went it wasn't crowded at all, but it was still loud in there. Another review mentioned it tries to feel like a club because of the music, I'd echo that.
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Glad our menu made such a good impression, Marc! We're pretty partial the noodles and soups ourselves, so it's great to hear you're a fan of the selection. Looking forward to your next visit. 'Til then, Edward, General Manager

Service was great, drinks and the meal was awesome. I had to tip all 3 waitresses. I only gave 4 stars because upon entry i was seated waaaayyy in the back but that was corrected by requesting to sit at a table to the front. Cool spot. Oh and no ketchup served here but the alternative will have you satisfied for sure. 👍

Thanks for taking the time to leave us this great feedback, Vic! I'm glad you enjoyed everything about your visit, from the service and drinks to the dishes themselves. Of course, we were more than happy to get you to a new table -- always let us know what we can do to better accommodate you! Hope to see you again soon, Edward, General Manager

Wonderful food, friendly service, great seating setup. But the music is too damn loud! They screwed up my order multiple times, even after pointing to the menu. It makes no sense, because I can barely talk to who I'm eating with.
Response from the owner - a month ago
While I'm glad you've enjoyed our food, atmosphere, and friendly service, I'm sorry if the music volume has been a bit too loud for you, Michael. We'd never want this to detract from a guest’s overall dining experience, and I apologize for any frustration that you've been caused. However, I appreciate your candid feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve our service. We're not in the business of making mistakes, so I also apologize for the mix-up in your order. I know we can be better than this! And if you'd be open to it, I'd love a second chance to really get things right for you on your next meal. All the best, Edward, General Manager

I cant stress enough on how disgusting the food in this place is. Idk if the cook was having a bad, if he left his glasses at home or if he just didnt give a crap but the food I ordered was awful. I went for dinner with a co-worker on a Tuesday after work and ordered the curried egg noodles which lacked in flavor. I I kid you not it tasted as if I myself made a pack of Ramen noodles and served it in a trendy bowl. I asked the waiter to change my entree because it was bland ( she questioned me like 3 three times but what is wrong with your plate and I said it just was not good ) it had no seasoning whats so ever I had to ask for SOY SAUCE AND SALT there was no curry in my dish whats so ever. I then ordered a Pad Thai , which was even worse I must say. It tasted burnt and again lacked in flavor. You know I usually go out for Thai because I'm a fan spicy flavorful foods but this place was really a dragggggg!!!! Please don't go there , you're better off going to SPICE which is literally up the block. The food is great good prices and doesnt resemble a cafeteria.

Gosh, Cynthia, we wish we'd impressed you more. The quality of our recipes is a point of pride for us, so it's disappointing to hear you felt let down. The last thing we would want is for you to leave feeling let down, and we're so sorry that was the case. All of our dishes should be popping with flavor, and we feel sure that will be the case in the future if you'll give us another chance. All the best, Edward, General Manager

Love this place!!!! Have been many times, very reasonably priced, fast service and delicious food. The chicken skewers are very tasty, broth bowls outstanding, and everything very fresh and perfectly prepared. You have to try Republic - you won't be disappointed!
Response from the owner - 10 months ago
Thanks for the recommendation, James -- that means a lot to us! We're so happy to hear you've enjoyed everything you've tried on our menu so far. Looking forward to welcoming you back for more sometime soon. 'Til next time, Edward, General Manager

I felt like this place is overrated. There is ample of seating, especially for a place near Union Square, and a big menu. However, the food was meh. I had better Thai food in other places.
Response from the owner - 2 months ago
We wish we'd exceeded your expectations, Omri! Our menu's something we pour a lot of thought and care into, and we're confident there's a dish that will really impress you next time. Looking forward to welcoming you back again soon -- we'll be ready to deliver a five-star experience! All the best, Edward, General Manager
