We visited here in on a Saturday in February 2015. This is a great place. It was packed, and I thought that the Riverfront exhibition was better sized to handle the crowds than the Oceanfront exhibit. Nice displays throughout, lots of different angles to see the animals. The butterfly exhibit was very nice. It was a shame to see people mishandling the butterflies though. We'll worth your time and money.

I was a volunteer here for three years as a teenager. There is literally nothing to dislike about this place. The flora and fauna are diverse, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and there's always something new to discover. If you go during off-hours, it's fairly quiet and you can stare up at the huge fish tanks and get lost in your thoughts. I really miss doing that.

We live in Atlanta and LOVE the Tennessee Aquarium. The layout keeps the traffic flowing and you can see the exhibits from any angle (unlike the Atlanta Aquarium where the exhibits have a narrow focus and you have to wait until one crowd moves so you can then move up to see). The Aquarium offers spacious freshwater and saltwater exhibits as well as a butterfly exhibit and "petting" areas for the kids. In addition, the IMAX theatre is just around the block and this adds a wonderful touch to the visit. There are also plenty of places to eat in the vicinity. It is a 90 minute drive from Atlanta and feels like a little vacation. We would choose this aquarium over Atlanta any day!

A group of 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our morning at the aquarium today. Not only were the facility and the exhibits amazing and different from most aquariums, but the service was phenomenal. We met a wonderful manager, Gene who offered to take our group 'behind the scenes'. He told us great stories, taught us a bunch about the operations, and showed us some amazing sights. I can't say enough about our experience. Thank you to everyone who worked at the aquarium today- but especially Gene for making our visit spectacular!

The aquarium was definitely a place to go. The prices beat the Atlanta Aquarium. I also felt I had a better experience then I did at the Atlanta Aquarium. Very interactive and a lot of exciting fish. The ones where not as long as they where in Atlanta. Just bring a fast camera or you miss out on everything exciting. The only problem is I wish there where a timer or something so that everyone could look at the animals cause everyone just stood there and did nothing and just stood in front of everyone. Just a personal problem. But other than that a 4.7/5 <--- silly score

Plenty to do & see here. All of the employees were very friendly & helpful. They all made sure to point out things as we went through. It really made for a fun experience. We will definitely go back again!

Visited on a trip to chattanooga with my hubby and two kids..we have been to the Atlanta aquarium a ton of times, but this blew it out of the water. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the fact that the river gorge explorer only ran one time that day and because their computer systems were down so they had to manual run my credit card which makes me nervous (carbon copies)

We had a great time here! Being Atlanta natives, we came here as kids and we're excited to bring our children for a visit. It's still a great time and really holds and aquarium feels throughout (low light and lots of viewing portals). The IMAX movie was really cool and kept the kids engaged while remaining primarily educational. One thing, don't eat there. None of that food is good unless you have popcorn and snacks at the IMAX theater. Maybe the burgers?
