I wonder how many people bought into the STORY of Minecraft. "Indie Dev Does F'ing Amazing" (long before this sale) is an incredible story. To experience what caused that story is motivation enough to buy a $15 game. Now, end of story. Happy ending, to be sure, but from here-on it's only a product.

That's right. However, when I talk with kids, most of them know who Notch is. They even know the current developers working on Minecraft. That surprised me.

Good article for game devs.
One is a medium that seems age-old to its youthful players, set in its ways, rarely fresh and dominated by people who think that the old games are the best. The other one is board games. The trend is mature now, but board games over the last few years have been a much more interesting space to ...

"The SHA-256 algorithm is surprisingly simple, easy enough to do by hand. (The elliptic curve algorithm for signing Bitcoin transactions would be very painful to do by hand since it has lots of multiplication of 32-byte integers.) Doing one round of SHA-256 by hand took me 16 minutes, 45 seconds. At this rate, hashing a full Bitcoin block (128 rounds)[3] would take 1.49 days, for a hash rate of 0.67 hashes per day (although I would probably get faster with practice). In comparison, current Bitcoin mining hardware does several terahashes per second, about a quintillion times faster than my manual hashing. Needless to say, manual Bitcoin mining is not at all practical."

While I certainly disagree with some of the things, it has good ideas for people who are unfamiliar with board gaming to think about.

Mousechief has new servers. To celebrate: 1. Discount our Steam games 50%, all week. 2. Officially announce TANK or BOYFRIEND!

Would LOVE your feedback on the short description for TANK or BOYFRIEND, on the new web pages.
