Home Instead Senior Care
Business Owner, 1998 - present
As the owner of the Sonoma County Home Instead Senior Care, I have truly created something both meaningful and purposeful for our Sonoma County aging population, since 1998! After being the primary caregiver for several grandparents as well as my own two aging parents, I saw firsthand the enormous need to keep our older adults safe and in their own homes where they can age in place with dignity and respect. I realized I wanted to go further in creating something that was meaningful, had purpose and helped others.
I have an active role in our community as and elder care educator. As a columnist in the Community Voice, and a recurring guest on Ask the Experts on Elder Care on KSRO radio Where I inform and aids our community with subjects such as preventing senior fraud, a Returning Home Program, and a 40/70 talk on how to talk about end of life issues with care & compassion with our aging parents, Hospice care as well as Alzheimer's & dementia care
I organizes networking events and fundraisers for nonprofit groups in the community. NAmely my two favorites are teh Alzheimer's Walk each year & the Redwood Empire Food bank. “What I am most passionate about is organizing educational experts to fly in annually, in the areas most of concern for our aging community.” I orchestrate events that are FREE and open to the public, in addition to Current Education Units for professionals at these annual days of education.
My focus has been Alzheimer’s & related dementias and Hospice care. “I believe if you can educate the consumer they will be able to make the best and knowledgeable fact based decisions for their unique situation as they navigate through their journey of aging. It truly is a privilege & honor to be invited into families most personal & private times as they age and navigate through the end stage of life. I am humbled to witness firsthand how Home Instead Senior Care services impact entire families in such a positive manner. Our services that encourage, assist and stimulate older adults really do change lives for the better!”
