In this unique musical event, David Byrne's "Contemporary Color," 10 elite color guard teams—flag-flipping, sequin-studded performers—will sync steps with musical luminaries at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center this weekend. Their intricate routines are choreographed to live performances by David Byrne along with Nelly Furtado, How To Dress Well, Devonté Hynes, Zola Jesus, Nico Muhly + Ira Glass, St. Vincent, tUnE-yArDs, Lucius, and Ad-Rock + Money Mark.
PRG provided lighting and rigging solutions for this colorful event in support of lighting designer Abigail Rosen-Holmes. Her rig includes 58 of the high-brightness PRG Bad Boy Spots to evenly cover the massive 90’x60’ field of play. Paul Chavarria is the production manager for this unique production, which also played two nights to rave reviews at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre as part of the Luminato Arts Festival. PRG will have in-depth coverage on this production, but for now, check out this Rolling Stone’s review of the Toronto shows.
