I had forgotten about the eclipse this morning but saw it over the mountains from our deck so figured I would give it a shot. 400 mm Canon Lens, Canon 5D Mark III, composite of two shots.

This is a very wide field, about 50 degrees, from some old 2011 Ha data. It was taken with an SBIG 11000M connected to a Canon 135mm F2 lens operating at F5.

A total of six panels, there is some star distortion produced by a combination of lens aberration and the mosaic star matching process, but it is not visible at any size usable on the web. The original mosaic is 12,195 x 14,670 pixels. The individual panels were made with PI drizzle integration due to the very low sampling from the 135mm lens and 9 micron pixels.

The bright star at bottom center is Betelgeuse.
There are tons of things in the image, some of the main ones are:

"Cone" Nebula - Lower Left
"Alien Head" Nebula - Lower Right
"Flaming Star" Nebula - Upper Right
Simeis 147 Supernova Remnant - Mid Upper Right
"Jellyfish" Nebula - Mid Left

Not exactly a great image but worth it for the large FOV.

Great tough work, above all. So is "great" in my humble opinion.

Lovejoy from 1-13-15.

Paramount ME
FSQ 106
STT 8300

Stars RGB, Comet LRGB

Stars 240 seconds x 6 each color
Comet Lum x 45 seconds x 15
Comet RGB x 60 seconds x15 (each)

Processed PI and Photoshop CC 2014

Not perfect and I decided to process the core differently than most, but at least I have something to show for the efforts....

M Quack.

A cluster of Sputum.

OK, maybe that is a cluster in Scutum.

Not the greatest image but figured I would throw it out there. Some old RGB data I had from last year that I figured I would use up. Could have been better but what the heck.
