Kim and I caught part i of Claire Chase's Density 2036 - http://bit.ly/SolZkq (Scheduling kept me from the always-phenomenal Yarn/Wire.) Much could be said, including beautiful pacing from Marcos Balter, and Lucier imposing his own time capsule. Save one (genius page-turning) exception, it was an hour of memorized music, expertly played and thoughtfully presented, exemplifying why Claire truly is a force, only to grow over the course of this 22-year project. Great to enjoy it with such a supportive community; sorry to miss tonight/Friday!

I've waited a long time to truly experience a visual "moment form". Incredible to finally see Pollock's "One".

So many distractions on my morning run. Thanks, NYC architecture.

new sounds on @sonoredurable featuring a squirrel that wanted to weigh in on the GOP debate - http://bit.ly/1MvIiPa

Special thanks to Kinokophone for not only supporting my work the past several years, but also recovering this particular recording for me. (Ironically, I've found that I now live blocks from one on their core-members here in Manhattan!)

Huge thanks to Rob Hamilton and the Arts Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute! Two-hour presentation of my work and the students were inquisitive and engaged to the end. Exciting to see all that is happening there (and drool over http://empac.rpi.edu)!

"Moved" to NYC last night; might as well get things rolling...

I'll be performing TODAY, 9/4, 8pm, with ICE/Talea's Erik Carlson, alongside Karl Larson, D. Edward Davis, and others (Scholes Street Studio, Brooklyn, NY) http://bit.ly/1hH2VdK

Pending additional chapters to a rather interesting, enduring summer, I'll officially be living in Manhattan as of tomorrow. Many have helped in a variety of ways, but some have gone well beyond what I could ever ask. I'm beyond thankful for such incredible gestures, and the daily perspective my new city offers.

Humble beginnings at my new #fieldrecording blog, with audio/visual documentation that may or may not make its way into my compositions. Categories include geophony, anthrophony, and earthlings.
