Californian-Mediterranean spot is known for simple cuisine in a romantic space overlooking a garden.- Google

Pleasant but not remarkable. Interesting wine list, generous portions. Next time I think I'd focus on appetizers rather than ordering an entree.

Best restaurant in the bay area. Consistently superb food, drinks, and desserts. They do the most amazing things with chickpeas. I often order their vegetarian dishes because they do better vegetarian than anywhere else. Worth the long drive, if you're on the other side of the bay area. And affordable -- much pricier bay area restaurants never come close to Rivoli's quality of execution.

One of the most overrated restaurants I've ever been to. Ordered a shrimp 'entree', it was more like appetizer size with 5 medium sized pieces of shrimps and a few asparagus. It tasted OK, nothing special and cost $27!! It was the first time I left a restaurant still hungry! It had a nice and cozy atmosphere. I was the first one arrived at the restaurant and got seated near the entrance/kitchen instead of near window with nice view even though the restaurant was completely empty and there were tables available for two near the window. On top of that, I asked the guy in suit (I think the owner) what the password was for the wi-fi which was listed in the list of available wi-fi networks on my phone he told me he didn't know the password?? Overall I don't see anything worth of it's current rating about this restaurant other than the atmosphere which comes after food quality and customer service for me. I think this is one of the restaurants that caught the 'high rating fever' and stopped caring about customers.

I have never had a bad meal at Rivoli. Come to think of it, I have never had a meal that wasn't great. The food is excellent and the dining room, though a bit small and sometimes cramped, has a wonderfully romantic feel. One of my favorite things about Rivoli is the wine list. Nearly every bottle is under $100 and most are under $50. The somelier doesn't try to overwhelm you with a long wine list, but rather has chosen ~4 pages of full bottles and 1 page of half bottles that all pair wonderfully with the food.

On the border of Berkeley and Albany in a rather small storefront, with tastefully serene decor and a lovely plant-filled courtyard, which you see through the wall of windows on the back wall. Their "signature" portobello mushroom fritters were good, but portobellos don't have much taste, actually (compared to morels, for example). For the entree, I didn't like the way that they spread the succotash over the plate and then piled the au gratin po

Surprisingly affordable very well prepared Cal/Med. The back room is beautiful. The noise level is tolerable. Its a little out of the way but if you are in the area, its a top choice.
