Contact the FCC and let them know what you think:

Tom.Wheeler@fcc.gov
Mignon.Clyburn@fcc.gov
Jessica.Rosenworcel@fcc.gov
Ajit.Pai@fcc.gov
Mike.O'Rielly@fcc.gov
Summary: The proposed network neutrality rules the FCC is settling on don’t appear neutral at all. Here’s the conversation we should be having if the FCC really thinks our network policies need a rewrite.

If the property they represented anything intellectual I'd agree that this was a problem, but a 14 year old posting his favorite clip of Hot Tub Time Machine with his face pasted in it is SO low on my list of worries.

This idea that we somehow have to be “fair” about everything is how we wind up having Bill Nye getting into public discussions about climate change, a spectacle my colleague Daniel D’Addario recently noted mistakenly gives the whole fiasco attention and credibility “as an entertaining, wacky debate between two personalities.” It’s how we wind up continuing on in a nation in which three out of ten people take the Bible literally, and an alarming nearly 40%  believe in intelligent design. Roughly 18% of Americans believe the sun revolves around the earth Should we have a debate about it? Should we hear out the “sun revolves around the earth” faction?

In our zeal for balance, we have allowed ignorance to be perpetuated.
The "debate" over "Cosmos" is making us dumber

Story
Tagline
AKA: @Malisent @RustyDogma — political junkie, gamer, avid reader, weight-lifter, dog parent, married to my best friend, 40-something
Introduction

TLDR Version of my profile:
  • All posts are public, and beware, I post a LOT!
  • Be civil, even when disagreeing (no name calling or belittling) or be blocked.
  • If you're going to comment on an article or +1, read it; please don't comment on just the headline.
  • I do not necessarily agree with every article I post or +1. Articles are a springboard for discussion.
  • To keep from being automatically removed from my Circles, make sure you have at least one public post every 2 months (requirement of the extension I use to clean-up inactive people).
Full profile:

I primarily use G+ to post links of things that are of interest to me, including the future of journalism, internet privacy/copyright issues/digital rights, politics (US, world, food, education), LFHC/Keto/Primal/Paleo eating, animal rescue programs (mainly canine), technology, general news and even some gaming stuff (MMORPGs).  Things I share, +1s and links to outside content do not imply endorsement, but simply my interest in the topic itself.

If you don't like what I post, either have a discussion with me or simply 'de-circle' me. If all you want to do is tell me I'm wrong with no discourse, I probably don't belong in your Circles. I love a good debate and to hear from people who disagree with me. Opposing opinions make us think!

So far, there's quite a good group of us talking about these topics.. I'd love to see a few more conservatives (no desire for a hivemind G+ experience) jumping in! People who cannot discuss a subject without resorting to personal attacks or belittling the intelligence of others to make a point will be blocked. None of us learn from that. We need to be able to openly discuss our disagreements.

Before commenting, please read the article and following discussion, sticking to the topic or conversation. Everything can go off-topic, as part of natural conversation, but comments should not be totally unrelated.

I also use my Circles to filter my incoming content, not outgoing. If you Circle me and don't like frequent posting on the above topics, be sure to move me to a Circle you check less often :)

I periodically remove people from my Circles that do not post publicly, please contact me if you believe your removal was in error. Also, if you are interested in engaging, please have a profile picture/avatar.  I don't Circle people without them.  It's confusing to keep up with my stream when the same bunch of blue heads are next to posts from different people. What can I say.. I'm old and need visual aids ;-P
Lisa I. Smith's +1's are the things they like, agree with, or want to recommend.
