I have been off line for a while, and need to do some serious catch up here.   Money issues are always a problem here along the KZN south coast, but when the holiday season is here then folks make hay while the sun is shinning.

The shad are starting and that is also a relief, as fresh shad is always a tasty treat, and catching them myself will help the wallet grow a little fatter.   Any way enough about personal stuff, I have been thinking hard about how to better explain the concept of #FUFISM

Now FUFISM is an acronym for Functional User Friendly Integrated Social Media, and also a marketing philosophy where Search and Social work as a team to drive high quality leads to your online content.

Social media marketing has many side effects that are not openly discussed within the marketing world, and the biggest one that slips through the net is the impacts on the  #SEMANTICFOOTPRINTS of every digital entity mentioned and linked to in your posts and associated comment streams when these posts actually get indexed by search engines.

Google uses SEMANTIC FOOTPRINTS in many strange and devious ways, especially where publication rights and authorship credentials are concerned within the inter-webs and cyberspace.

Now getting Google to actually index your social media posts is quite a serious mission, and needs great care, so as to ensure that all your posts are indexed.  It is thus essential from a marketing perspective that  your social media posts are public,   when ever possible and appropriate.

Sharing to private groups or individuals in the social media is good for pure social media marketing, but does not assist your semantic foot print, and has no impact on search out side of the platform in question due to the private nature of the post.

Your semantic footprint is like a trace of where you have been within cyberspace, along with what you did there, and any context which a search engine can reasonably calculate from the data that they have collected about you and your on line activities.  Search engines, specifically google use this information to calculate your intent, when searching, with a high level of accuracy.

The intent of your search is matched with the intent of web pages, blog posts and other online content through elaborate deep level algorithms, which have made use of many strange and seemingly unrelated data sets that have been gleamed through semantic footprint matching and the related semantic context scrutiny, along with a host of traditional text based query issues.

FUFISM based marketing allows you to come to grips with your semantic footprint, and how to make use of this within your trans media marketing in ways that entice your target market audience to use words and phrases that match your semantic foot print or the semantic footprint of your online content.

I know that I have made this sound simple, and it is simple, but there are a considerable number of small steps  that need to be taken, with the correct mindset in place, which will become clear to you as you statrt to look at your online marketing from a FUFISM perspective
