Unfortunately due to the extreme weather we have a few communities affected by power outages. If you are affected we recommend reporting outages to our emergency maintenance teams as well as your provider. Customers of IPL can report outages or downed power lines by calling (317) 261-8111, (317) 261-8222 or toll-free at (888) 261-8222. Duke Energy's toll free number is (800) 343-3525. Duke Energy offers several tips for instances in which your power goes out: • If you see downed power lines, assume they are dangerous and stay away. • If your power goes out, check to see if your neighbors have power. If your home is the only one without power, check your circuit breakers or fuses to determine if the outage is a result of a household problem. • If you anticipate an extended outage, consider moving yourself and your family — especially those with special needs — to an alternate location. • Turn off lights and as many appliances and electronics as possible, including heating systems. You will help prevent circuit overload situations when your power is restored. You will also reduce the potential for damage to sensitive equipment such as computers, microwave ovens, televisions and recording devices. • Help protect your food during a power outage by keeping your refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible to maintain the cold temperature. Your refrigerator should keep food safely cold for about four hours if it is unopened. A full freezer should hold the temperature for approximately 48 hours if the door stays closed (about 24 hours if it is half full). To help in case you face a power outage, consider gathering these items for an emergency kit: • A flashlight with extra batteries (placed where you can find it in the dark). • A battery-powered radio and fresh batteries. • Canned foods that require no cooking. • A manual can opener. • First aid supplies. • Extra fuses. • A battery-powered or wind-up clock. We hope power will be restored quickly. Please be safe.

Due to the winter weather advisory our Indianapolis area communities will not be open Monday, Jan. 6th. Our emergency maintenance teams are on call and can be reached through the main number of your community. Stay warm and please follow our suggestions to prevent freezing pipes. Allow faucets to drip and maintain higher thermostat temperatures. Thank you for your assistance. Stay safe everyone! http://www.in.gov/dhs/traveladvisory/

Due to the inclement weather at most of our J.C. Hart communities we appreciate your patience as we clear the walkways and parking areas. With many areas closed we're doing our best to tackle the snow. We also ask that you use precaution during the extreme cold temperatures upcoming. Allow faucets to drip and keep thermostats at warmer temperatures to insure pipes don't freeze. Thank you very much for your assistance and patience. Be warm and safe!

Great apartments! The staff is helpful, nice and professional. Maintenance acts quickly to fix what you need them to when something inevitably breaks or quits working. The location is perfect and all of my neighbors are awesome. There is a great community atmosphere here the office is always putting on events with food and drinks. The floor plans are great and I rarely hear the neighbors. I wanted to give 4.5 stars but I couldn't so 5 stars it is!

I really love my apartment. Its not the cheapest place in town at all but I've been comparing prices of other places in the area and its on par. I love the location, great appliances, great storage, good layouts, and the staff is great. I moved in here when it was brand new and have been here 2.5 years. Maintenance is on top of the abandoned dog poo, things get fixed quickly and really I don't have big complaints. Yes, I hear my neighbors upstairs, and the heavy doors in the hallways are loud, and you hear people going up the stairs, but that's an apartment for you. I would like it if my rent stopped increasing every year, but its still relatively on par with the rest of the apartments in the area. Its a good place to live!

My dog has been attacked TWICE within the last 3/4 months. I used to love living here, but now I'm always in fear there will be a dog not on a leash (especially walking around the lake), or a dog with a leash attached but no owner in sight (this is how my dog was attacked twice). My dog is not the same, as he used to love small dogs (my dog is huge). He's terrified to walk past the one apartment where his last attack happened. It's not right, and no one seems to care around here. I can tell management cares, but she's one person. There are some lazy, neglectful, and negligent dog owners here. There's also a lot of dog poop everywhere, and it's not just in the spring.

Response from the owner - 4 months ago
Becca, our apologies for the incidents. I believe you've had a chance to speak with our manager at this point, and we hope to help you in any way we can moving forward. We are also addressing the poop issue as it always seems to be an annual issue in the Spring. Thank you for sharing your concerns as we do care to help in this situation, and we're sorry if you felt otherwise before. Mark at J.C. Hart

I have never lived in a place where I have been sooo disappointed in what you get. Most of the time the saying "you pay for what you get" is true, in this case not so much. These are not inexpensive apartments by any means. They are great from the fact that they allow all breeds of dogs, but that is it on the plus side. The smoke alarms sound every time you use the oven or take a shower. The cabinets already have paint missing from them and the hallways are always dirty. I will never resign here and cannot recommend it to anyone.
