We had a great 30th birthday party for my girlfriend and the team at BrickNYC was great in helping me plan the event for all 20 of us. They fit us all at one long table, which was perfect. They were flexible when we had some late additions and no-shows, and make sure we had a ton of food from the family style menu until we were all completely stuffed. The menu was a delicious salad w/ goat cheese, riceballs, meatballs and pasta appetizers, chicken parm, and pizzas for the main course. It all eventually ended up on the table at once and we ate like kings. The food came out quickly, so we all got to start eating right away. We had a champagne toast and the birthday girl got some chocolate lava cake with a candle for a birthday song. The service was great and the staff were super friendly, I couldn't have asked for a better evening. Special thanks to Vip who worked with me on the planning and reservations and the manager Zach who make sure everything went off without a hitch. Thanks again!

I recently had the pleasure of trying out Brick NYC with my Girlfriend. During their Saturday Brunch and Live Jazz special. First the good: Clean open space, with excellent food. We had the frittata special with zucchini and cherry tomatoes on special and the mushroom pizza. Both were outstanding flavorful and well done! Portions are decent for the reasonably hungry. The Live Jazz was a singer and a single musician playing, nothing over the top, relaxing and made the atmosphere quite nice. She sung some classics in multiple languages which was an interesting change of pace. (IE: "Perhaps" in Spanish) Drinks were Mimosa and a Bloody Mary, followed by coffee. The mimosa was nice, fresh and refreshing. Coffee was excellent, flavorful and well made but a tad strong! (I mean elephant wake up juice strong) As an avid coffee drinker, it was outstanding and surprising! However some may find it too strong. The Bad and not so good: The Bloody Mary was left alone. I found it over peppered and spiced. The portion size was generous but not enough to make it drinkable. Both my Girlfriend and I agreed on this. Food service: Excellent with one exception. Our frittata came out almost 10 minutes before the pizza. They were not busy, so I could not blame an overwhelmed kitchen. I suppose it gave us a chance to enjoy the frittata first but usually one would expect entree orders to arrive within a few moments of each other, not 10 minutes apart. Still the staff was attentive and our waiter immediately apologized for the delay between the orders without a word of complaint from us. Kudos for letting us relax and chat, we ended up enjoying a nice conversation over music for almost 2 hours! (something we had not noticed until we decided to leave) I left a hefty tip as a thanks to the waiter for not pestering us every two minutes. Finally everyone looks for restaurants that are conveniently located to an area they frequent, Brick NYC is a nice casual setting and atmosphere one would want to return to. This initial visit was with a Groupon deal, there was no special menu, you can order right from the day's specials or the regular menu. We enjoyed our Brunch and look forward to returning during a weekday to compare without a deal.

Had dinner here with some friends on a weeknight. The place was mostly empty, so we were seated promptly and the wait staff were super attentive. Our food was excellent! I was particularly impressed by the enormous polpettini and the rich gnocchi with brown butter and sage. With an excellent atmosphere and satisfying dishes, this place is an A+ in my book.

I was pleasantly surprised with the great food at Brick. I ordered the steak and eggs. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection(an overcooked scramble is terrible). The steak was cooked to a proper medium rare(as requested). My companion ordered a Bronx Bomber pizza which was topped with great cold cuts. Service could have been better.

Came here with some friends for brunch with a Groupon. I was really looking forward to this meal -- what a disappointment. The restaurant was definitely understaffed, so it took a long time to get seated, even with a reservation, and then we waited a long time for someone to take our order and even longer to get our food and drinks. Our waiter was courteous but obviously harried, and kept forgetting parts of our order. My friend ordered scrambled eggs, and since the waiter did not write anything down, she eventually ended up with fried eggs instead. After waiting even longer to get our waiter's attention, she politely asked for scrambled, and he went back to the kitchen to rectify the mistake. A few minutes later, a man I assume was the manager showed up at our table and was extremely rude and sarcastic about the error - he actually made my friend feel guilty about the restaurant's mistake. She then had an additional wait as the rest of us ate our food, and was finally presented with a bowl full of slightly runny, flavorless scrambled eggs -- I could have whipped up better scrambled eggs for her at home in less time. At no point in our visit did anyone associated with the restaurant apologize for the error, the long wait, or how the mistake was handled. The rest of my group ordered brunch pizzas, which were okay, but not amazing. I had the Bruha pizza, which was topped with butternut squash, ricotta and sage, and decently flavorful if somewhat dry. Another friend ordered a pizza with spinach, artichoke and cream sauce, which I thought was not quite as good. The cocktails were of average quality, but took a very long time to arrive, as did everything else at Brick NYC. The ambiance of the restaurant was its one saving grace. The space felt simultaneously cozy and trendy, and we enjoyed the performance of the female jazz singer near the front of the restaurant as we waited (and waited, and waited...) for our food to arrive. At the end of our meal, the check was presented to us by the same manager who had been so snarky to us before. He was there to break the news that Groupon meals were subject to an additional, previously undisclosed tax on the original value of the food. Since the prices were not listed on the receipt, it was impossible to check the math and determine what percentage of the bill we were being "taxed" on. The restaurant had also gone ahead and pre-calculated the gratuity for our party of four. Frankly, the poor service at Brick NYC deserved no more than a 15% tip, and that's being generous. These additional, undisclosed charges nearly doubled the price of the Groupon which I had already paid for, and are by no means standard practice. I frequently use Groupon deals to discover new restaurants, which I am happy to visit again and pay full price if I am happy with the experience. Needless to say, my friends and I will not be returning to Brick. Caveat emptor.

Great, thin crust pizza. Authentic and great beers. Tends to be very noisy so better for night with friends than dates.

Used the Groupon for Sunday brunch. Everything was good but not great. But for the price in NYC it is hard to pass up. Lots of adult bevvies to make certain people more tolerable.
