Last night's 3D print cut me as I was removing supports. I'm pretty sure this now an actual accursed item.

A few more of my 3D prints. One of them is a basket I designed to hang on the side of George's new loft bed. He puts his glasses and the remote for his night light in it. The others are parts of his Halloween costume. I only made the gold Triforce medallions, which replaced the silver horse medallions that came with the armor.

A couple of 3D prints from last weekend. The first is a gold Legend of Zelda master sword bookmark. I print these with 3 layers at 0.2mm per layer to keep them  flexible but strong. I used gold 3DXTech PLA. The second is a replacement bumper for some old croquet mallets. I went with Matterhackers white soft PLA for a little flexibility and a softer hit. The lettering still needs a little work, but this prototype is being play-tested now.

This is a master sword bookmark I created for George to use with his Zelda books. I used MeshMixer to cut a thin slice from a 3D model then printed it about 6" long and 1/2 mm thick so it's still flexible.

Have you seen the nifty things I have been making with my 3D printer the last few months? Are you jealous and wish you could be cool like I am? Well here's your best, inexpensive chance to do it. +AxisLab 3D Printing right here in Grand Rapids, MI is selling the same printer I own. Not only that, but they also offer upgrades to make the printer easier to use and to produce higher quality prints. Oh, and did I mention that +Aaron Brown the owner of 3D Labs taught me most everything I know about 3D printing? Yeah, he even offers classes to teach you how to use the printer, how to get started 3D modelling, or anything else 3D printer-related that you want to know. If you're curious at all, just stop in to +AxisLab 3D Printing to take a look around and find out more.

This year I was less diligent about cutting the invasive vines that invade our back yard and they decided to produce some fruit. We won't have anywhere near 12lbs of Summer Grapes from them, but I'm thinking of giving this a try. https://www.evernote.com/shard/s24/sh/33b19875-7497-4c59-83d6-a73aab60e685/6df6f1fe2091b1033690fccb766fab8b

My second attempt at designing and 3D printing a drop spindle. The whorl is really sturdy, so I think I can reduce support in there to make it look more curvy. The two part shaft worked, but it was some work to sand them down so they actually fit together well. The biggest worry is about the hardiness and size of the hook. We'll see how it holds up. Anyone want to try it?
