Last friday +Luisa Löster
and me finished our work on a sculpture illustrating the life of Saint Hubert the patron of the Saint Hubert Church in Petershagen near Berlin. Hubert is the patron saint of hunters, mathematicians, opticians and metalworkers. He became a saint because a crucifix manifested to him between the antels of a stag Hubert was aiming at. The stag proselytized him and he became bishop of Liege.
The sculpture is an interpretation of the scene when Hubert was aiming at the stag. The stele is made up from two parts - one is showing the young Hubert as a hunter, the other one shows him as an old bishop. Between them is a gap that reveals a distant cross, which is supposed to be an unexpected occurence.
Since we were short on time I didn't manage to take good photographs of the finished artwork. I hope I will be able to catch up time and good light to make some photos.
