What a great day for the Dallas Innovation Alliance!! We are excited to announce that The United Way had made a donation to the DIA of $205,000 to support the initiatives of building a Smart Cities "test lab" in the West End. This is a first step in a multi-phased city wide Smart Cities plan. It really gives a lot of credible to the mission of the Dallas Innovation Alliance, that an philanthropic organization like United Way would believe enough in the vision to make such a strong commitment to innovation in Dallas. Now, we have even more support in order to make Dallas a recognized leader in entrepreneurship and innovation.

After a great Dallas Startup Week it was great to see our new friend Taylor Soper from Geek Wire write this article about The DEC. It has been so incredible to see the Dallas (North Texas) startup scene grow and every day there are more and more stake holders that get involved. Corporations, Universities, investors, accelerators/incubators, media outlets and more are helping build a strong and vibrant ecosystem for entrepreneurship. It is fun to read an article like this and think we have had a role in helping make this community collaborative and successful.

Great article this morning in the Dallas Morning News business section around the DEC Ambassador Program. It is amazing to see residents of North Texas joining a volunteer program that supports and serves within the entrepreneurial community.
Great work by the #teamDEC ambassadors and great highlights of Aaron Terwey, Emiola Banwo, Tara Vornkahl, Tom Buttine and Aassia Haq.
