this is a must read if you want to be my friend. :)

Like Minds is a #speculativefiction thriller set 40 years from now.  This #scifi crime drama begins when a virtual reality coder finds out someone he was just chatting with has been murdered by a serial killer.  And the killer is targeting people like him.

The FBI agent he contacts has to choose between following the rules to fix her tainted reputation or risk her career and life to figure out what’s really going on, how to stop it, and how to save the coder.

There are elements of a crime drama, sci-fi #thriller, and even a #fantasy novel as Trobden an elf becomes pivotal to the story.  A boy, believing he’s just playing an elven rogue in an #augmentedreality WoW-like game layered over the streets of Chicago finds it may be more than just a game.

It’s set in a future-possible world colored by artificial reality, neural implants, transcontinental bullet trains, smuggling, augmented reality, and murder.

The Meter of Good Movies

So a full meter means a movie was good and a low meter means bad. I can pretty much agree with everything here.

As we took the first bites of our meal, a shadow darted in the corner of my eye. I turned, expecting a utensil that had slid across the floor, but the cockroach was nothing like the shape of a fork. It darted from one end of the dining area to another. A fellow dad and I met eyes acknowledging neither of us was hallucinating. it was a large roach, bigger than those I am used to in Texas. it was about 2 inches in length. I lost sight of it as I crunched down on my overpriced, fast-food quality shrimp. The cockroach reappeared a minute later, heading toward the other end of the dining area. Others noticed and informed the servers. My wife obliged and informed our server as well. Just then, a gentleman at the table next to me informed me the cockroach was underneath our table. Lo and behold, the cockroach was scurrying across my wife's sandled toes, and escaping underneath my toddlers chair. "There it is," I reported. It ran straight for the servers shoe, where she gave it a light "crunch" followed by a muffled "pop" as she ended the roaches life in Forrest's restaraunt chain. Lt. Dan would be so proud. Several tables around us left without ordering dinner. My family's dinner was $107 before tips. No comps were given, no apologies made.

My kids are crazy about this place. Decent food, local beers on draft.
