Great short film showing an artist's rendering of what exploring our solar system could look like in the future.  Great visuals and the narration from Carl Sagan is a bonus.

Tried carving a pumpkin.  And I mean actually carving.  Came out alright, but I realize now that I could have added more depth.  Maybe next year.  This method is 1000% messier than the normal cut-four-holes one.

Amazing.  Moment to moment was just one laugh after another.  Well done.

Why is this so awesome?

This Italian song from 1972 is almost complete gibberish, but intended to sound like English with an American accent.  It was written to parody Italian pop artists that, at the time, were ripping off American pop and incorporating poor English in their songs.  He wanted to show that people would make it popular just because it sounded English.

Regardless of that, it's pretty catchy, and the video is pretty interesting.

Today is Friedman Legacy Day in honor of the 101st birthday of Nobel prize winning economist Milton Friedman.  He passed away in 2006, which is a real shame since he had an amazing ability to make the complex theories of macroeconomics quite understandable.  His book and documentary "Free to Choose" is the touchstone to my personal economic and political beliefs.

The Friedman Foundation that he and his wife started continues today in efforts to bring choice of primary education to all people.  I've spent this week re-reading and listening to many of his speeches and articles, and I can't help but wish that we had such a charming figure about today that can explain free market theory with such ease.

I do still enjoy the writings of Thomas Sowell and Walter E. Williams, which seem to carry the torch quite well, but I am not holding my breath for another 10 hour mini series on the level of "Free to Choose".

Wish I would have worn my Adam Smith tie to work today... shoot.

Just another evening hanging out with the offspring.  He is cutting his top front two teeth so he has been making a ton of noise.  While he was a little quiet, we slipped this over his head and he started making all sorts of little cooing noises.  I think he was digging on the phonics. After removing it, I then entertained him for about 15 minutes with my cookware percussion skills.  It's the simple pleasures really.

So what does a Security Threat and Vulnerability Analyst do all day? Today it is being on hold with McAfee support. Good times.

Wouldn't you know; looking for a job for about a month and a half, I don't hear anything. Then I do three interviews in three days with two companies, and get a referral for a third position in the middle of that. Fingers crossed that all thia leads to some good news.
