This is the "Keeper of the Plains" on the Arkansas River in Wichita, Kansas. It is right next to the Mid-America All-Indian Center.

WATCH FOR FALLING ROCKS
Almost to the Continental Divide in Colorado there's this road with an ominous rock wall that blocks out the sun.  The road isn't much in this shot, but it's one beautiful road to be on.  This is shot is taken handheld, through the front windshield (bugs photo-shopped out) going 65 MPH.  I'd like to go back with a tripod one day.

A couple of days ago a couple of my friends +Charles Lupica and +Brian Dukes invited me to the Black and White / Holiday challenge. Today I would like to continue with this image and challenge a few more people to participate. 

Christmas is such a colorful time of the year so showing Christmas in B&W can be a real challenge. 

For me, a fire and a Christmas tree gets me in the holiday mood. While the colors may not be there the subjects say it's the holiday season to me all day long.
