My latest silk painted art quilt is finished and ready for sale. A work cherry blossom quilt.

A cherry blossom art quilt, it is a big size and all those cherry blossoms took a long  Time to make. I took the inspiration photos this last spring and I have just now finally finished my art quilt. That’s a while. I’ve had a few progress reports along…

I completed my art quilt "After The Rain Shower,". The silk as first painted with permanent dye paint. The co1ors mimic the glimmer and glint of the sun's rays as it dips lower and lower in the Western sky.
Most of the elements in this composition were created entirely, using the technique of thread painting..I used it in adding the intricate, rich details, like the feathers, they were made individually,
I was speaking to another artist that I know, he made the comment that he can't draw the line and say "This is finished" Because he'll always see 1 more thing to make it even better.
Consequently, he puts in so much time, he's probably isn't making a profit on his work
I had to laugh,
I get it, he is creating his art for his self, it has to reach the bar he's set for himself, his expectations. If not, he sure isn't. going to put his name on it! So he spends too much time, and makes 0 profit. Me too, I'll get in that line behind him. With me,, it's being vulnerable, opening yourself for anyone to see and draw conclusions about you, what do
other's think?"That's scary.,
It'd tied in with ego I think, probably low ego.If I felt embarrassed by a piece I made, or felt I needed to make excuses for it.Then I'm not done or I won't want to sell it. It's hard because you put yourself out there, open and exposed. What if someone doesn't like it? What If something that I thought was good, really isn't? You better keep working on that on this until it's the best you can do..Yep,with that insecurity, you're not going to make any money selling your art But if they love it, boy that's a big pat on he back, that makes you feel good..
