Julie A Beyers, PhD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 1990. After graduating, she served as assistant professor in the Psychology Department at Colorado State University, teaching a variety of courses, supervising predoctoral practicum students, and developing a clinical practice. She has over 20 years of experience in many different settings, including community-based clinics, university counseling centers, nursing homes, and in a large health care system. Julie provides individual, couples, and family assessment and therapy services, and group therapy to adolescents and adults. Her primary areas of expertise include: anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, grief and loss, and coping with chronic illness. She has over 15 years of experience working with seniors and the unique challenges they face. Julie provides community and school-based presentations on a variety of topics including careers in Psychology, depression, anxiety, stress management, work-life balance, and parenting. She uses motivational enhancement and cognitive-behavioral strategies to help clients identify what needs to change in their lives, and educating and empowering them to move forward to achieve their goals.
