At our #APYDCON LGBTQ Bullying panel discussion, Alejandra Luna expressed the need for #LGBTQ representation and building positive school culture to #stopbullying, homophobia, and transphobia. LGBTQ youth have a higher rate of suicide, than any other youth demographic. We can no longer be silent about these issues. Schools and youth organizations need to prioritize professional development for staff on supporting LGBTQ youth and creating #safespaces.

This week we finished our 6th Annual Best Practices for Youth #APYDCON and it was such a great reminder of how much we still need to celebrate 🎉, invest in 💪, and support our youth and issues that affect them each and every day. They are the next generation who will fight to make this world a better place and today is a reminder that it is not just a local fight, but an international one as well✨🌎✨ #youthdevelopment #internationalyouthday #youth #youthday

Happy #NationalBookLoversDay! Books are a great way for us to travel, learn about other cultures, feel understood, and grow. We encourage you to motivate youth to read more diverse books, and books that cover topics like mental health. Do you have a young adult book recommendation? Or what’s a book that you think everyone should read, no matter their age?📚
