Could you provide a reference for your comment on mp's working 1 hour a day then going home. I have never heard anything close to this. The generally accepted figure is of 69 hours/week on average (I can't remember the source of the top of my head but can provide it if you want it). The only criticism I've ever heard that doesn't refer specifically to an individual mp is that they should spend more time in Westminster/local constituencies; which leaves then with a catch 22 situation.

Whilst I agree that it is only a minority that truly doesn't want to work, your seem to have the view that all present authority is bad. Forgetting that people go into politics as a vocation, not a job.

In addition, you make it sound as if George Osborne is cutting benefits whilst increasing pay for mp's. Let's not forget that ministerial pay isn't set by parliament.
