Story
Introduction
On Sunday, May 6, 2012, the Children’s Aid Foundation will hold its second annual SPARK afternoon gala. This year’s theme, “Rhythm and Soul,” evokes the transformative power of art and music in the life of a child.

The gala is an extraordinary annual fundraising event that supports the Ignite the Spark Fund. The Fund allows disadvantaged children and youth with
limited opportunities to benefit from athletic, artistic, cultural and recreational programming.

Spark is an inspiring afternoon for families with tweens and teens and for the corporate community. Sponsored by TELUS, the event will be hosted by Leslie Roberts and Anne Mroczkowski, co-anchors of the News Hour at 6 on Global Toronto. We will honour Spark luminaries, including World Figure Skating Champion Patrick Chan, through video, song, dance and fashion segments highlighting their remarkable success stories and pay tribute to the individuals who first ignited their inner spark.

Last year we recognized renowned choreographer, Tré Armstrong, entrepreneur and CBC’s Dragon Den panelist Arlene Dickinson, Canadian actress and
and Commonwealth Games gold medalist, comedian Andrea Martin, entertainers Colin Mochrie and Deb McGrath and national wrestling champion Nick Ugoalah.
