Thronton’s weekend continues warm trend, bring slight chance for showers at the end. The unseasonably warm weather we have been experiencing is going to continue Friday and through the weekend. We will see more clouds and Sunday brings a slight chance for showers but overall warm, calm conditions will be the main features. For Friday we will have mostly sunny skies with a few clouds due to some upper level moisture. Conditions will be dry and calm. Highs today will reach the mid-60s and then we will dip to the mid-30s overnight. Increasing mid and upper level moisture leads to a good bit more cloud coverage Saturday. We will however remain dry and see temperatures once again reach the low to mid-60s. Saturday night into Sunday morning lows will drop to around 40 degrees. Sunday starts out calm with a good bit of sun but then clouds will increase. There will be just a slight chance for some rain showers from late morning / early afternoon through Sunday night. Highs Sunday will again be in the low to mid-60s. Have a great weekend and of course check out http://www.thorntonweather.com/ for all the latest.

Record-setting warmth on tap for #Thornton’s Thursday. The stage is set for us to set our second record high temperature this month. High pressure is dominating the scene right now and with clear skies the mercury is going to climb. We start out the day with clear skies and those will continue throughout the day. Temperatures will be climbing from morning lows in the 30s to a high around 73 degrees. The record high for today’s date is 70 degrees set in 1970 and that is virtually certain to fall. Otherwise, look for overall conditions to be dry and calm. Tonight mostly clear skies will be above and we will cool to overnight lows in the mid-30s. Our live #weather gauges will allow you to keep an eye on the rising mercury: http://www.thorntonweather.com/live-weather-2.php

A warm Wednesday with lots of sun and calm, dry conditions. Following a chilly start to the day we will be warming up quite nicely. Temperatures will be well above normal as we enjoy a spring-like day. We start out the day with clear skies and other than a few, high clouds there will be sunshine throughout. Temperatures start out below breezing but then we will be warming up to the mid-60s. Average for the date is 46 degrees so we will easily be above that. Winds will be relatively light and out of the south. Overnight tonight the skies remain clear and temperatures will drop to the mid-30s. More: http://www.thorntonweather.com

Thornton’s Tuesday to offer lots of sun, comfortable temperatures. A quiet day of #weather ahead for us. We will see highs a bit above normal today and generally a good bit of sun above. We start out the day under clear skies and those will last until late morning / early afternoon when some mid / upper level moisture will introduce a few clouds into the mix. Temperatures today will be warming to around the 50 degree mark. The afternoon may bring some breezy winds with gusts pushing 20 mph but nothing extraordinary. Thornton’s workweek starts out calm, temps a bit above normal. We kick off what will be a week of unseasonably warm temperatures with a pleasant day today but with some cloud cover. As the week progresses though, more sun and warmer temperatures can be expected. We start out the day with partly clear skies then should see the cloud cover ease some later in the morning into the afternoon. Temperatures today will be climbing to a high in the low 50s. Average for today’s date is 46 degrees. Looking ahead, tomorrow will see similar temps but with more sun. Then, Wednesday through Friday will see the mercury climb into the 60s. Extraordinary warmth to be followed by unsettled conditions for Thornton’s weekend. A bit of a mixed bag of weather for us over the three-day period. We will see potentially record-setting warmth today to be followed by cooler temperatures and chances for precipitation Saturday and Sunday. For today, we start out extraordinarily warm due to those strong, warm downslope winds. That gives us a head start toward a forecast high of 74 degrees. The record high for today’s date is 71 degrees set in 1951 so it certainly is in jeopardy. The wind forecast is a bit tricky but we do expect it to settle down a bit but remain breezy. Overnight tonight it will be partly cloudy with temperature dropping to the low 40s. A weak system moves through tomorrow and will impact the bulk of the weekend. Cloud cover will be increasing tomorrow and by the end of the day it will be mostly cloudy. Temperatures will remain above normal, although cooler than today, with highs in the mid-50s. We may see a few raindrops in the afternoon with rain becoming more likely in the evening. Saturday night / Sunday morning get colder with lows dropping to the mid-20s. On Sunday the system works its way out but not until we see just a slight chance for a little bit of snow early in the morning. Then we should see skies gradually clear and we work toward a high in the mid-40s, right near normal. Have a great weekend and of course head over to http://www.thorntonweather.com for all the latest.

Thornton’s Thursday continues the very mild temps, breezy winds. We are going to continue our unseasonably warm and dry weather with more of the same today. Winds will still be breezy but not near as much so as yesterday. Mostly sunny skies start things off and you can expect similar sky conditions throughout the day. Temperatures are starting out a bit chilly but will warm quickly as we head toward a high in the upper 60s. The record high for today’s date is 73 (normal 45) so we will be close but should fall short of a record. As for the winds, they will be out of the southwest at 15mph or so, gusting to 25 to 30mph at different times. Overnight tonight the mercury will drop to the mid-40s under partly cloudy skies. Wednesday brings mild temperatures, windy conditions. #Thornton will enjoy another day with unseasonably warm temperatures. Enjoyment of that however will be significantly curtailed by strong winds for much of the day. We start out the day with mostly sunny skies and will see more of the same throughout the day. The downslope winds have things starting mild this morning and will help push us toward a high in the upper 50s. Wind speeds will increase this morning, peaking around noon with gusts to 45 mph being possible. After about 3:00pm or so we should start to see the wind ease and overnight they will be calm. Tonight into tomorrow morning look for mostly clear skies as we dip toward a low of 33 degrees or so. Another warm and breezy day Tuesday. Thornton will enjoy another very mild day today with temperatures approaching 20 degrees above normal. There will however also be a healthy dose of wind to go along with it. We start out the day with mostly sunny skies and will see a little bit of increase in cloud cover as the day progresses. Temperatures will once again warm quickly and we can expect a high in the low to mid-60s. Winds will continue throughout the day with gusts around 30 mph being possible. A cold front will backdoor its way into the state later but we don’t expect it to come far enough west to impact us much. We do see just the slightest chance for a few drops of rain after 4:00pm into the late evening. Overnight tonight partly to mostly clear skies will be above and temperatures will drop to around 40 degrees.
