X-Men sketch of Nightcrawler. Trying out some fun new inking techniques!
Nightcrawler is one of my top 3 X-Men characters. I've loved the character's attitude, his development over the years and the over all feel he brings to each team he's been on. A huge part of his character growth was his time as the leader of Excalibur. I wasn't reading that book as it came out ...

Thor Commission from the Malta Comic Expo a few months ago!
This was a commission I did while I was at the Malta Comic Expo last Nov. Again, finally getting around to cleaning up the scan I had. Man, what an experience that was! Everyone running and helping with that show did an amazing job for a first year con. I've never seen any group roll with the ...

Robotech illustration and everything awesome about Giant Robots!
This was a commission for my friend Eric Grubb back at Baltimore Comic Con. I finally got a chance to clean up the scans and get a good final image of it. Hopefully I can get Simon on the colors for this soon! I've always really enjoyed the giant robot genre of anime, and Robotech/Macross has ...

GI JOE Baroness piece, continuing my run of sketches and colored prints for my Joe-A-Day!
This was one of those IDW Signature series sketches I did last year. I had Simon color it up and we realized this is the first Baroness he's ever colored for me. Crazy to think we've worked together for almost 4 years now and this is the first, but there you go.

Joe-A-Day continues until Christmas Eve! Just under a week of Joe sketches left to fit in. Outback makes the cut! Follow the link to see how awesome this dude is!
Outback. What a perfect example of how awesome GI Joe can be! Raise your hand (and be honest) how many of you know who Outback is? Now you die hard Joe fans who read the comics and actively collected the toys...You'll know this dude. You might even know that the "Survival" on his shirt isn't his ...

Nightwing (Grayson) DC Comics character sketch. Mock up cover. Fun to do, this is a great book. I highly recommend it.
This was a commission from my good friend Darrell Taylor (Taylor Network Podcasts) for our friend, writer and author Tom King. He co-writes the comic Grayson for DC Comics. This sketch was a Christmas present for him. I didn't post it earlier because I was still in the middle of my Joe-A-Day ...

Spiderman Colors! A recent commission piece.
Here are the colors to the Spiderman Commission I recently posted. Colors by Simon Gough, which of course anytime I have a Spiderman to color I'd go to this guy to do it. Literally his user name on about every website is "Spidermanfan".... so that's a no brainer. Spiderman Colors - 736 ...

Sgt. Slaughter all wrapped up!
Man, I love this guy. I know he came a bit later in the 80's GI Joe run, so he's not everyone's favorite. For me, it was the first time GI Joe really came to life. I could watch this guy on the GI Joe cartoon, then watch him wrestle on the TV as a real person. On top of that, Sgt Slaughter was ...

I've had a wonderful spotlight video created for the project I'm currently working on. America's Army Comics. We did this video interview, and it's a great representation of my career so far. I get to talk about comics, toys, games, my education through SCAD and teaching with Comics Experience. Pretty comprehensive video in 5 min. Check it out and like it on YouTube!

Spotlighting some Dreadnoks character art for today's Joe-A-Day post!
A classic mercenary character from the ranks of the Dreadnok gang! Zartan was my first GI Joe "Bad Guy" figure growing up. He changed colors, came with a cool little swamp jet ski. Man he was the best! Through the cartoons I got to know Zarana and I remember having her figure as well and I'd ...
