I'm excited to be organizing a panel on Leading Accessible Online Communities for Community Manager Appreciation Day (CMAD) on January 27. We still have room in the Hangout for more online CMs with practical experience to share on eliminating barriers for people with disabilities. And we're seeking a sign language interpreter for the Hangout as well. Let me know if you can help! Twitter hashtags #CMAD  and #a11y.
What practices, tools, and resources can an online community use to remove access barriers for people with disabilities? Learn about barriers and solutions from community managers with direct accessibility experience and with a variety of disabilities. We'll walk the talk with panelists on both the Hangout (which is not fully accessible) and Twitter, and volunteers helping to bridge communications between the two.

For more information, please check out:

Great blog post by Wes and Laurilea Williams as they reflect on what they learned at SLC Camp Denver, share recommendations for others attending their first SLC Camps, and prepare to return for SLC Camp Bay Area this weekend! Laurilea and her teammate Andy Ennamorato won a camp bounty in the Denver #edtech codeathon for their application prototype, Intelliseats.

The Shared Learning Collaborative (SLC) hosts a two-day EdTech learning camp and codeathon.
Join us for keynotes about the SLC architecture and ecosystem, plus deep dive sessions for educators and for developers. For the codeathon, teachers, coders, entrepreneurs, and education innovators will team up to build education applications using the SLC data store and open source API. SLC experts will be on hand to assist all day, and the two best applications developed win cash bounties.
