Quotations from student papers.... is there a law of unintended meaning? There should be in this age of complete reliance upon spell-checker. "If imagining one’s death is intended to lead one to a sense of carpe diem, I would say it is better to cease the day without anxiety of death."

OK, THIS has got to be worth more proof than any Virgin Mary on toast or Jesus on a dog's arse, that there really IS a god... any god, with a sense of humour!

This is worth reading. Not surprising for those of us involved in research ethics, but some interesting, glaring examples, are!

By the way.... the Ethics Center's fall symposium (on Sept 20th, all day, in the Sac State Ballroom) will be on Responsible Conduct of Research! Timely, indeed!

Together weighing 2kg, or just under 5lb, these two colossal volumes represent many years of work by one of the most influential moral philosophers of our time. They have been long in the making: it i...

Ya, Blackburn is a pretty careful guy with cool analytic gaze, usually. But, then so is Parfit, and he worked so long on this one I find it difficult to believe he botched it so in the way B says. Makes me want to read it, which is what a good review should do, I figure.
