Hi, I am a translator and is now translating a book of Dr. Gazzaniga. Dr. Gazzaniga mentioned one of your research in the book and since I am translating the text into Mandarin, I hope it is not rude to ask how to write your name in Mandarin. Your reply would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Well, NCBI is run by the US government. Perhaps that plays a factor?

Surprisingly critical review of "the fall of the faculty". Whatever the misgivings of the blame game (the faculty was certainly complicit in this), the growth rate of administrative positions in US universities has been quite astonishing, with a questionable upside. In contrast, the average US college in the 19th century had precisely four (4) administrators: A president, a provost, a registrar and a librarian. Also, I am surprised that no one invokes Parkinson's law to explain this. This is not the first time where bureaucratic overhead unrelated to the core mission of an institution (in this case teaching and research) grows unchecked. For a historical perspective, see: http://www.berglas.org/Articles/parkinsons_law.pdf

I would have loved to read more about the prediction method. It's unfortunate that none of the researchers is quoted.

Quite right; I missed your point. It'll be interesting, however, to see whether the right spends any money to reelect the Tea Partiers next year.
