Let me tell you a story.

It's a story about a man who was on a retirement vacation to the Dominican Republic with his wife.
He got lost on a walk and ended up seeing first-hand the deplorable living conditions for those people caught in the tyranny -
he literally saw a man stealing from a pig trough for food for his family -
and it tore at his heart,
and he decided to do something about it.

He began by building homes.
As people from around the globe heard about his work, they caught the vision and came to help.
To date more than 1300 families live in homes and villages that offer them education, medical help, and increased employment opportunity and training.

The people that started this are from Canada. Like me. They were just people on a holiday that decided to say… this is not okay.

I had the absolute pleasure of being taken right into 2 of the villages that were built from this man and his wife.

We brought school supplies from home for the school, that literally had started from 10 kids in his garage -
and we brought lollipops and candies for the kids in the villages, and armed with our cameras, smiles and open hearts, we walked through the village, met the people, met these KIDS and the warmth that was returned with these smiles and happiness from the poorest community I have ever been embraced in… I can't even begin to tell you how it touched me.

This is HAPPENING. And there are people - just like us - that are making a difference to these innocent souls.

I will be doing a series of photos from the 2 communities I experienced. And I will be starting a kick-starter donation site so we can help.

Only $4500 builds a home.

Walking around, seeing the scraggly dogs, all the kids playing with ONE big wheel with no front tire, seeing first hand a home with one main room, one bedroom and one… bathroom… that these people take HUGE pride in, they have flowers on their doorsteps and sweep the steps and entrance and absolutely gave us warm smiles, kindness and open hearts…
We can do this.

Let's do this. You and me.
This gorgeous little girl, who expects ZERO, who was beyond delighted that she was given a lollipop… let's represent.

Please stay tuned for continued details.
And please open your hearts.
Let's change some lives.

"I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.
I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls.

During a boxing match back in 1997, Mike Tyson bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear. Tyson, one of the world's greatest boxers ever, got disqualified. Tyson had many behavioral issues that led to arrests, prison and a co-starring role in "The Hangover."

Check out this Foot Locker commercial, in which Mike Tyson returns Evander Holyfield's ear back to his owner. Do you think it's funny or way too much?
