I didn't like this place too much. My girlfriend and I went for dinner one night a couple of months ago. The service was pretty bad. The waiter barely looked at us. He checked on us once (and by checked, I mean gave us a side 'are you okay' while never fully facing us). He seemed really friendly with the other couples, giving them winks and ushering the couple beside us to a new table because he thought that they looked too cramped. My salad was gross, the menu wasn't vegetarian friendly. My girlfriend did enjoy her chicken however. Maybe he didn't like young lesbian couples of color. I didn't much like his ponytail. The restaurant was pretty though and the ushers in front were friendly.

Busy time on a Sunday, we waited 10mins for the hot dish, and mine was served cold. Extra star for the overall atmosphere, very DOG.

Eaten there many times over the years. Basic idea has stayed roughly the same: well done eclectic cuisine with a high quality ingredients. One of the better places in university city.

A little pricey, but good food and a nice atmosphere.

Went here for years and always found something great on the menu under Judy Wicks' ownership and vision. She pioneered the idea of sustainable food before it became trendy. Went yesterday with co-workers and I couldn't find a single vegan entree on the menu. The waiter couldn't find one and after checking with the cook, confirmed there wasn't one. They didn't offer to make one. It is hard to take talk of 'environmentally sustainable' foods seriously at a restaurant without a single vegan entree. I made do with a few expensive side dishes, but I imagine that will be my last visit to this once-great restaurant.

One of my favorite places in philly. After going to college here for 4 years and coming back, this place is still, and always will be one of my favorites. They are so accommodating to dietary restrictions. The food is fresh and delicious. Being from LA, fresh veggies are standard. Here, the standard is maintained. So let's conclude, the dishes are simple, elegant, and bold. Need I say more?

We visited the White Dog Cafe for my sister's birthday brunch. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly hostess. After being ushered to our seats on the lower level, I was able to take in the ambiance. It was dark but intimate and inviting. Our server Arielle was pleasant, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was...pretty good. The portion sizes were just ok. For the price, it all could have been better. All in all, I would revisit the cafe (perhaps for lunch or dinner) to explore its other offerings.
