VINE WEAVING: Workshop led by Anna Hutson

Prairie Creek Preserve (Kathy Cantwell Trail)

In Florida, vines are readily accessible and plentiful, and are a common choice for basketry purposes. In this workshop, we will learn how to weave grapevine into lovely and functional baskets. Pliable materials like kudzu vine to more rigid, woody vines like bittersweet, grapevine, honeysuckle, wisteria and smokevine are all good basket weaving materials- and we will spend some time discussing these alternatives.

Grapevine will be provided, please bring clippers. Workshop will take place at the trailhead for the Kathy Cantwell Trail, signs will be placed near the entrance to Prairie Creek Lodge that will direct you to the parking area.
