The Google Maps API for Business brings you familiar Google Maps features combined with the flexibility of an API to apply the technology to your business. Here’s how one company is using the API:

iV3 Solutions offers technology-driven property inspection and risk management solutions. They noticed that gathering information about a property could be a time-consuming and frustrating task for both the insurer and the homeowner. Using the Google Maps API for Business, they created the PropertyIntel PING report, an real-time online report that can help insurance companies save time, increase profit, and improve customer service by creating an immediate and detailed view of a property.

Houston’s locally-owned Brazos Bookstore uses Google Apps to keep their traditions alive with technology that’s a bit more modern than their paper calendar. Brazos Bookstore’s new manager claims, “When I told [employees about Apps], they actually all stood up and applauded.” (http://goo.gl/8pV8b Note: Paywall)

University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences has #gonegoogle

We're thrilled to hear (http://goo.gl/0cuAN) that the UPenn students currently piloting Google Apps for Education are enjoying the ride. All graduate and undergraduate students in SAS and the College of Liberal and Professional Studies will move to Gmail this summer, and all incoming freshman will have Apps accounts before they arrive on campus.

Chris Mustazza, director of Social Sciences Computing and Student Technology, hopes that mail will just be the start: "Our overall plan goes much beyond email -- we're planning on actively seeking out ways that the applications included with Google Apps can benefit students through facilitating collaboration and by enhancing courses."
