I've yet to go to Genes and Judes but I'm told they do the hot dog the same way. Now, understand, this isn't a traditional Chicago style hotdog, it's missing a pickle and celery salt, but in spite of that it's a solid dog. I like the snap of the casing, and the fries are great. Nice no frills stands like these make the Chicago food scene stand out.

my lady and i ate here last night. thought it would be average, but it was surprisingly good. Ordered shrimp, fries and a double dog with cheese. My girl loved it, and finished before me... (rare) lol anyhow, only downside is i expected a bigger menu. Other than that, 4 stars yo

Wow! The last review really said it. This reminds me SO much of Gene and Jude's...and to a less extent Jimmy's. Great hand-cut fries and nice a new renovation to the little building...so it doesn't make you worry about cleanliness like you might at aformentioned establishements it reminds me of. I'm definetely becoming a regular!

My favorite hot dog place in the city hands down. The dog comes with a ridiculous amount of fries that are to die for. It is cash only, but you won't need much because you will be filled up for only $5

My new favorite hot dog stand in the city. Almost identical dog as the famous Gene & Jude's, without having to drive to River Grove. The Vienna dogs have good snap to em' and the fries are crispy and flavorful. This place also features fried-shrimp. I've never had fried shrimp at a hot dog stand before, but they were a nice change of pace. Open til at least 4am everyday, which will definitely not help my waistline.
