I think I came down with something, because I'm feeling Flemish ;p Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, located next to True Food Kitchen at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Currently, Fleming's has "A Taste of Summer" 3-course dinner for the all inclusive price of $40. A bread plate starts off the meal For starters, sashimi tuna Tuna, sweet onion, jalapenos & scallions in an island ponzu & sesame marinade. Topped with a citrus, cilantro and avocado relish, crisp onions & fried wontons. I'm an avocado slut & I'd never thought I'd say this, but I believe there was too much avocado. Crazy, huh? The avocado overpowered the flavor of the tuna. Other than that, I enjoyed the sashimi starter, especially the crunch of the crisp onions & fried wontons. Duo of bacon-wrapped filet mignon & salmon Porcini-crusted & bacon-wrapped filet mignon with a creamy gorgonzola cheese sauce, and house cedar-smoked salmon with a honey-soy glaze. Cooked medium-rare, the filet mignon was tender & extra juicy. Wanna take something over the top? Wrap it in bacon! The bacon fat added the salty, fatty, unctuous goodness of pork to an already delicious piece of beef. The salmon was flaky & oily, as it should be. I would have preferred it to be cooked a little less, but that's just the sashimi lover in me. Be careful! The plate comes out piping hot. Dessert, fresh summer berry shortcake Summer berries, orange-pistachio infused shortcake biscuits with chantilly cream & fresh mint. The highlight of the meal for me! Crumbly shortcake biscuits, while a little drier than I was expecting, were excellent once liberally slathered with the extravagant chantilly cream & paired w/ fresh fruit such as blueberries & strawberries. My dessert has since gone missing with an APB put out around my GI tract ;p I didn't think the 3-course dinner would satiate my appetite, but I had a full belly upon leaving. I'm definitely not bikini ready ;p Service was okay. I felt the server was more concentrated on other parties. Parking is valet & 90 min parking in the front of the restaurant. I parked at the Whole Foods parking structure, which is a quick jaunt from Fleming's. BTW, I used my $25 dining credit I received via email for my visit. Score! Sometimes, you just have to splurge on a fine dining experience. Having that in mind, I highly recommend making reservations at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.

Life just doesn't get any better than dinner at Fleming's. Hands down THE BEST steak around and impeccable service. I usually get the filet, husband gets the bone in ribeye, and when they have it order the tomahawk. Amazing. Sides are great and the atmosphere is so pleasant. I dream of dining there!

I ordered a medium rare ribeye steak, wife ordered a medium rare filet. Her filet was dry on the a majority of the steak, and a little pink in the middle. My steak was tasty on a small part of the steak, and deep rare on a majority of my steak. I did not enjoy it as much. The table next to us had a guy demanding a new steak because his was not cooked right. Our waiter seemed to be overburdened, not attentive. Told us we'd start out with bread but never gave it to us (had to request it.) Coffee was free though! So that was good and the souffle was decent. Wife went to the restroom with no toilet paper in it. Perhaps we came on an off night. Willing to try again, but the price and distance makes me want to try other competent steak houses instead.

We can't dine here any more coz my husband is now in a power wheelchair. The tables are very close together. In the past, when we took a very good friend there who was rather large, they had to sit us at the nearest table (small, too) to the door coz of space limitations.

I was a little put off at first by being seated in the back, out of sight, due to my jeans and T-shirt look. We weren't the only ones. Started with a nice glass of All Hands CabSauv. Nice price and was really tasty. Ordered the filet and Caesar salad. The Caesar was fantastic with a nice piece of thin toasted something. Lol. It tasted really good alone or with the sauces that came with the bread. The filet was cooked perfectly with a nice crust on it. I substituted the asparagus with the green beans and was pleased with those as well. I wish I could say I stayed for dessert, but I was stuffed. Even after being sat in the back, two managers came to check on us, as did out waiter regularly. Water was constantly full as well. Food was amazing. Prices were a bit steep, but to be expected once you walk in, and its worth it. I recommend this place highly.

Brunch menu is extensive on Sundays. The Bloody Mary cart is impressive. We had the salmon egg Benedict and it was very tasty. Service was lacking and parking was extremely difficult on a Sunday noon time.

This is the 3rd time I have been to Flemings, and it has been consistantly good. I typically order the rib-eye on the bone, about $48 and a side of creamed spinach. Last night we also got the special of mash with crab meat. Both the sides, particularly the mash was amazing. The steaks were cooked exactly to my liking (although they did mix up my steak with my colleagues). The wine list was extensive, we opted for a couple bottles of chilean wine which was enjoyed by all. It was a rather expensive evening, but I would say it was well worth it and I would like to repeat it again.
