The food is obviously excellent here. But the staff is what makes this place what it is. The entire waitstaff and Jordan and her team up front are best in industry.

This is a really nice place to come for a quiet glass of wine AND you can play boccie ball. There's a fireplace with a pair of armchairs. I can't wait to go back.

I'm not sure what's going on with their steaks, but it seems the quality just gets worse and worse every time we come here. They overcooked my steak, but the manager was really responsive (our waitress was not on top of things...) and replaced it quickly. The flavor and tenderness, though, does not seem to be as good as it used to be. Probably won't be returning anytime soon...

I think I came down with something, because I'm feeling Flemish ;p Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, located next to True Food Kitchen at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Currently, Fleming's has "A Taste of Summer" 3-course dinner for the all inclusive price of $40. A bread plate starts off the meal For starters, sashimi tuna Tuna, sweet onion, jalapenos & scallions in an island ponzu & sesame marinade. Topped with a citrus, cilantro and avocado relish, crisp onions & fried wontons. I'm an avocado slut & I'd never thought I'd say this, but I believe there was too much avocado. Crazy, huh? The avocado overpowered the flavor of the tuna. Other than that, I enjoyed the sashimi starter, especially the crunch of the crisp onions & fried wontons. Duo of bacon-wrapped filet mignon & salmon Porcini-crusted & bacon-wrapped filet mignon with a creamy gorgonzola cheese sauce, and house cedar-smoked salmon with a honey-soy glaze. Cooked medium-rare, the filet mignon was tender & extra juicy. Wanna take something over the top? Wrap it in bacon! The bacon fat added the salty, fatty, unctuous goodness of pork to an already delicious piece of beef. The salmon was flaky & oily, as it should be. I would have preferred it to be cooked a little less, but that's just the sashimi lover in me. Be careful! The plate comes out piping hot. Dessert, fresh summer berry shortcake Summer berries, orange-pistachio infused shortcake biscuits with chantilly cream & fresh mint. The highlight of the meal for me! Crumbly shortcake biscuits, while a little drier than I was expecting, were excellent once liberally slathered with the extravagant chantilly cream & paired w/ fresh fruit such as blueberries & strawberries. My dessert has since gone missing with an APB put out around my GI tract ;p I didn't think the 3-course dinner would satiate my appetite, but I had a full belly upon leaving. I'm definitely not bikini ready ;p Service was okay. I felt the server was more concentrated on other parties. Parking is valet & 90 min parking in the front of the restaurant. I parked at the Whole Foods parking structure, which is a quick jaunt from Fleming's. BTW, I used my $25 dining credit I received via email for my visit. Score! Sometimes, you just have to splurge on a fine dining experience. Having that in mind, I highly recommend making reservations at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.

We had a 6:15pm reservation, so waiting for a table wasn't an issue. They sat us downstairs in the wine bar where there were about 9 tables. Service - slow. Took forever for us to even order our drinks. (However, our waitress was nice) Food - when they bring out the plates, they warn you about them being very hot. That was not the case with the season 3-course plate. I wonder how long the plate had been sitting in the kitchen because the steak & plate were cold. As for the crab legs, they were shriveled. I've had better ones from the grocery store. So DON'T order the season 3-course special. (The lobster tails were great as well as the other filet, although it was medium rare. We asked for medium) Can't say that I'm eager to come back. I'd rather go to Ruth Chris or Morton's. The service is much better there. 2 stars because it wasn't a completely terrible experience. I enjoyed my lobster tails.

Service was very good Mamger tried to make everything righr but Fathers Day Brunch was terrible. Everyone who ordered Lobster Bisque said tasted bad, very thin and no lobster. Ordered crab omelet sreved cold sent back new came out lukewarm. Wife ordered French Toast came out cut in hard cuncks. It appears there cooks just don't know how to cook breakfast - lunch items. Will never go back for brunch. Grandson was sick after eating there french toast.

I was a little put off at first by being seated in the back, out of sight, due to my jeans and T-shirt look. We weren't the only ones. Started with a nice glass of All Hands CabSauv. Nice price and was really tasty. Ordered the filet and Caesar salad. The Caesar was fantastic with a nice piece of thin toasted something. Lol. It tasted really good alone or with the sauces that came with the bread. The filet was cooked perfectly with a nice crust on it. I substituted the asparagus with the green beans and was pleased with those as well. I wish I could say I stayed for dessert, but I was stuffed. Even after being sat in the back, two managers came to check on us, as did out waiter regularly. Water was constantly full as well. Food was amazing. Prices were a bit steep, but to be expected once you walk in, and its worth it. I recommend this place highly.
