2018 - a long way off for sure. But consider this - from April that year your property must have an EPC rating of E of above in order to be offered in the rental market. Could the UK be heading towards a minimum EPC rating when your property is sold. Think Tank - Bright Blue have some interesting views on how property owners in the UK should consider energy efficient home improvements. Their detailed report makes for interesting reading but Page 77 suggests that property owners would need to ensure a minimum EPC rating is achieved at the point of sale.
