Why are those inside higher ed so hostile to offering job training and career credentialing as opposed to degrees?  Why can't we have more than one type of education coming out of higher ed? After all, we have more than one type of student .. yes???

Advocate for affordable online colleges and transparency in online learning and higher education
Introduction
I designed and directed America’s first counseling center for online learners for America Online (1989-1996). I'm the founding CEO of GetEducated.com: a consumer group that rates, ranks, and verifies the credibility of online degrees. My advice to students has been sourced in the Wall Street Journal, Time, Fortune, U.S. News & World Report, CBS News and so on.  I'm the lead analyst for Get Educated's online college ratings and rankings helping uncover affordable online degrees from America's best online colleges. My pug dog, Chester Ludlow, has an online MBA, which says a lot about the work to be done bringing quality control to the area of online learning.

I tried using Massage Envy in hopes of treating a frozen shoulder and lower back pain. I could not recommend this franchise to anyone with health issues. They lure customers in with a low price quote and then give you a hard sell to "subscribe" for a year. I made the mistake of doing so and regretted it deeply. What I got was low quality bodywork from a revolving door of "therapists" whose techniques were sloppy and often left me in more pain than when I came in the door. This is a franchise with low pay for its workers, high staff turn owner (I found one therapist I liked and then she left bcs of the low pay and high demand to turn over clients back to back.) The model here is a a chop shop and the turn over in staff/therapists so high you'll never be able to see the same therapist twice. You'll be pressured to see "another therapist" so they can meet their contract promise to one massage a month. Yuk. To add insult to injury they pressure you to pay a "tip" each time directly to the therapists in addition to your monthly fixed fee, making the service cost even more. (They do not pay therapists well and pressure, you, the client, to make up the difference personally). I have heard that other franchise locations for Massage Envy are better run -- its a national chain -- but the one in Williston, Vermont definitely has client service issues.

I began using Planet Massage 18 months ago for issues related to lower back pain and a frozen let shoulder. I had been looking for a regular treatment specialist for a year but had found a lot of inconsistency in the knowledge and technique of Vermont massage therapists. From the first session at Planet Massage it was clear that Suzan Seymour is an exceptional healer with a rare talent for working on pain in the body. I committed to bi-weekly sessions and then moved to weekly treatments. The results have been consistently amazing. I recommend Planet Massage without hesitation as an exemplary practice, especially if you are dealing with pain issues related to frozen shoulder, arthritis and spinal deterioration.
