Clouds are temporary. They will pass. The blue is there all the time (even when you can’t see it) – and it will show up again. https://buff.ly/2JPmsYT

Send a free postcard to a friend this week! (And help me design the next series of cards...)

The theme for #UniMentalHealthDay 2018 on 1st March is “community”. Everyone loves to receive a handwritten note, so we had these Kindness Cards printed for members of our Connaught community to send to one another.

This is a pilot. If it’s successful, we will roll our cards like this to all the intercollegiate halls (although they will be half this size, and there will just six designs, not 12; the printer made a mistake with the size of these ones!).

But we need your help. Let us know which cards you like and which you don’t. And if you have ideas for different designs or better messages, send them to me. If you have a really good design, it could be picked for one of the six final designs.

All feedback/ideas to adrian.clark@london.ac.uk please :)

We’re beginning a one-week focus on mental health in recognition of #UniMentalHealthDay on 1st March.

Here’s a great place to start: Why we all need to practice emotional first aid | https://www.ted.com/talks/guy_winch_the_case_for_emotional_hygiene – a 17-minute TED talk exploring how we might be able to look after our minds in the same way we all instinctively look after our bodies.

#Thanksgiving post from the Warden - Day 4...

Today is Thanksgiving Day. Could you write a letter to a friend, family member, or someone who has helped you, expressing your thanks for what they have done and the good ways they have impacted on your life?

Today's #gratitude post explains how to write and deliver a gratitude letter. Think how good it would feel if someone did this for you. Wouldn't it be great to make someone you love feel like that?

#Thanksgiving post from the Warden - Day 2...

"As counterintuitive as it sounds, the truth is that thankfulness and #gratitude doesn’t come easily — especially when we have so much to be thankful for. After all, sometimes our true feelings don’t always spring forth naturally. Sometimes, in order to feel something we have to do something. So how do we cultivate an appreciativeness of the good things in our lives, something deeper than just an awareness? There are a ton of different ways, but here are a few that might be right for you."
