Good to know
Google does list redirected URLs in the SERPs when you specifically search for them says +John Mueller and here is an example.

Ha!
Yoshi, we're back!

This is a brilliant, funny (and brilliantly funny) ad about how you get your marketing data, the impact it has and the reasons that cause it. It totally makes the case of don't just look at the data but also look at the sources behind the data.

A quick heads-up: Snippets indicating Flash-heavy pages on mobile SERPs start rolling out globally

A few months ago we announced that we'll indicate to English-language searchers in the US on mobile if the page uses Flash and so may not work on their phone:

http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2014/07/promoting-modern-websites-for-modern.html

Starting today, we'll start showing a localized version of this snippet for Spanish searches on google.es, Japanese queries on google.co.jp, and English queries on google.co.uk.

And, as always, make sure your site uses technologies supported by mobile devices if you care about mobile users (you should :) ). The only universally-supported technology is HTML5/CSS/JavaScript.

Hey +Ben Rogers I see you have downloaded and rated Tasker for Android. I just started playing with it recently. I was wondering if you have any interesting profiles you can share?

Breaking News: Google Panda 4.1  is Rolling Out

Just minutes ago we've received word from Google that a significant Panda update has been rolling out over the past week & will continue into the next. The reason this is significant, is that according to Google most Panda updates are now happening about every month & rolled into the algorithm, but are no longer being announced.

So this is the first official announcement from Google of a Panda update in quite some time. It remains to be seen whether we'll officially call this Panda 5.0.  [This is now being referred to as Panda 4.1] We're still waiting on word of how broad its affect has been & I'll keep you updated on that story...

Official announcement from Google's Pierre Far:

Earlier this week, we started a slow rollout of an improved Panda algorithm, and we expect to have everything done sometime next week.

Based on user (and webmaster!) feedback, we’ve been able to discover a few more signals to help Panda identify low-quality content more precisely. This results in a greater diversity of high-quality small- and medium-sized sites ranking higher, which is nice.

Depending on the locale, around 3-5% of queries are affected. goo.gl/lof4sL

Google has a new wide spread manual action penalty going out over Private Blog Networks.  This is reportedly pretty massive.
