Now we just need a jit compiler to do this with everything.
An anonymous reader writes: Less than two weeks after one group of MIT researchers unveiled a system capable of repairing software bugs automatically, a different group has demonstrated another system called Helium, which "revamps and fine-tunes code without ever needing the original source, in a ma...

It's about time.
ciaran_o_riordan (662132) writes The US Supreme Court has just invalidated a patent for being a software patent! To no fanfare, the Court has spent the past months reviewing a case, Alice v. CLS Bank, which posed the question of "Whether claims to computer-implemented inventions ... are directed to...

So...Per MS, noip.com is a willing party because they refuse to take action against abuses happening on the subdomains that they have registered, and the proof of notification to noip is that there are articles by security firms stating that there is abuse happening on their dns subdomains.
There are also articles by security firms stating that MS hosts illegal and malicious software on their cloud sharing, as well as distributing spam through their hotmail/msn email systems. And of course, the 'bad agents' of the whole topic are the botnets that are created through the distribution of this malware that turns only MS machines into bots.
It sounds like maybe all MS services and OS's should be removed from the net, because MS has repeatedly been made aware of these, even proving their knowledge of it through legal cases like this, and yet have not done enough to prevent the abuse.

...Or is that too heavy handed?

A little bit of clarification. MS took down over 4M DNS records to stop 2000 active dns records (18247 subdomains over the entire history of this malware). Even at the full 18k subdomains, that's only a 00.46% of the total taken down because of unpatched/vulnerable MS systems. It seems they have spent far more in researching a lawsuit to damage the general public and noip.com specifically than eliminating vulnerabilities in the OS.
