North Dallas food has suffered with the changes of management and chefs over the years. The current management, as of 5/20/15 has a pretty good menu and runs it well, though their prices are a bit high, so I half agree with the person who said fast food at Quality food prices, though that's an exaggeration. One of the best things about North Dallas used to be the cheese fries. The new owners added chili to it and made it a specialty, which I think is just awful, so I ask for cheese fries and turn a deaf ear when they try to convince to try chili. Their cheese fries really come with bacon bits and extra salt and really are something special. They serve them with ranch dressing, which really goes good with them. I ask for the bacon on the side, because they lay it on thick. One of my favorite foods in Dallas is their appetizer called chicken tenders. It's fantastic. Get a large order. You can choose to have them cooked in a variety of sauces, take it from me, choose the Barbeque, and ask for a little extra on the side, because they never put quite enough on. Also, ask for a side of blue cheese dressing to dip them in. Trust me, it's awesome. If you can't stand blue cheese, then substitute ranch. That and cheese fries makes for a good dinner for my wife and I and costs around ten or twelve dollars. I like all of their specialty salads pretty well too. They also cook a pretty fair steak, but I'm a real steak snob, since my dad was a butcher and cooked the best steak in the world, better than Ruth's Chris.

The food is ALWAYS great, with absolute consistency. The staff is friendly. The portions are plentiful. There are lots of great foods in the middle and back of the menu waiting to be discovered that no one ever notices. It's arguably the best restaurant in town, certainly the best Chinese style cuisine and I would say it's got the best General Tso's Chicken from here to Portland, except maybe China Faith in Salem, which nobody knows about for some reason, but it's a different style of the same dish. Also, you have to try a warm up of pot stickers here and their BBQ pork in Chinese Ketchup and Hot Mustard with sesame seeds. The crab puff won tons are great too. You really get your money's worth with the family dinners for two or more. But if you are going to order a combination plate, don't miss the House Special at the top of the page--It's really good and will fill up two normal size eaters.

I always go to Wally. He's done a lot of work on my cars and pickup and it's always done right and when I get a second opinion before having work done, I have always found that Wally is right and the dealerships or other service experts are wrong. Wally knows cars better than anyone I know and he's a no BS kind of guy who charges absolutely fairly and honestly.

McGrath's is an unpretentious fish house priced like Red Lobster, but with food that may sometimes seem uninspired compared to the Lobster, but on the other hand, often makes the Lobster hide his reddened face in disgrace. I can't figure out what causes it, maybe it is the chef that day, but once in a while a dish is just bland--though usually and lately, they are excellent. I found my all time favorite dish at McGraths. It was some tasty items stuffed into ravioli and cooked in a hazelnut cream sauce. It had "Francoise" in the name, I think. It was so good, I dreamed about it and craved it for a couple of weeks until we went again. It was not on the menu and they told me it only comes around once in a while. I was stunned. Well, I just had to satisfy myself with some prawns, but I'm still hungry for that hazelnut whatever it was.

Dr. Rivers is a very honest and caring vet who not only does a great job but he helps you save money, often to his own detriment. He explains all of your options clearly and doesn't play any games trying to force you into paying for services you don't need, such as, some vets will try to make you pay for a pet exam before they will sell you flea control, but not Orchard Animal Hospital. I've used them for over a decade and they've always done a great job. I feel my pets are safe with them and don't get stressed as much as they do with other vets. Plus it is centrally located, which is important, because my pets freak out when I take them for a drive. They're also fast with blood test results. They bend over backwards to fit me in and always seem to have an opening when my pets are really sick and need urgent care. They are happy to sell you their medications in stock, which are lower than other vets, or they will give you a prescription or fax it to a place where you can get it for less, such as an online discount pet med supplier. They are also very good about letting me know when it's time to give my pets their vaccines and such. If you want good service, low prices and help with savings, as well as prompt appointments and loving, tender care from an honest vet, this is a great choice.
