Life in Thailand is now much safer than before after the army took over. The military makes us relieve by stopping all protests and arresting groups with weapons who had been preparing to cause more deaths and chaos.
Thank you, the army.

Danzen is now abandoned.
Recently Takeda Thailand announced it would stop making Danzen which has been in Thailand drug market for over 40 years.
Danzen has been used by many doctors around the world to reduce soft tissue swelling. Takeda however found no evidence of its efficacy and stopped selling the drug in Japan in 2011. This is a very good example of how a drug can be sold in the market only by belief and marketing, not by its efficacy.

It is still safe to stay in Bangkok.
For my patients who plan to come for surgery in the next few weeks, please be aware of the "Bangkok Shutdown" campaign which will start on Jan 13, 2014.  This event is planned to put the "ultimate pressure" on caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her government to step down by people demonstration on all major roads of the city.
Although road traffic is expected to be paralysed, transportation by BTS skytrain and MRT (subway) will be in operation and that is enough for patients to travel and stay in Bangkok during their recuperation.
