The Lesson of Grace in Teaching
After giving this talk, I had so many requests for the text that I shared it on Facebook.  But Facebook deleted it.  So I created a blog just for this.  I hope you find it helpful. It was the hardest thing I ever had to write: because it is deeply personal,...

+Mathematical Association of America members: vote in the National Election by Monday May 4. There are some great candidates! (If you didn't get an e-mail about it, you may need to renew your membership.) You can login at www.maa.org to vote!

In honor of Pi Day, here's my #PiDay  Pi-ku Pi-em Poem:

How I pine,
I dream longingly of golden rings, and round circular
spherical figures: metaphors for pi, for unending love.

(Syllables are 3,14,15, a "pi-ku".
And word lengths give digits of pi, a "pi-em".)

It's Giving Tuesday. In a series of posts, I'd like to tell you about non-profits I encourage you to support. Here's #1. The +Mathematical Association of America. We get kids excited about math. We help faculty teach their courses better. We publish the premier journal of mathematical exposition: The American Mathematical Monthly. We bring beautiful mathematical ideas to the public. We could use your support.
