I question this woman's pedigree. She did not say 'pecan' correctly for a South Carolinian. Also, she ought to have known that when it rains while the sun is shining, The devil is beating his wife (behind the door). Two words that are shibboleths for South Carolinians are 'pecan' and 'palmettto'. Those two words can easily distinguish a real South Carolinian from someone who moved here, or who has sold out to other accents through homogenisation.
