Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) has issued 103 subpoenas since taking control of the House Oversight Committee in 2011, according to a review by The Hill. With the California Republican entering the final months of his chairmanship, his legacy has become a matter of fierce debate, with Democrats arguing he has abused the power of his gavel in a partisan crusade against President Obama. via +The Hill

Biz groups are blasting the Obama administration’s proposal to expand a public database to allow consumers to register their unfiltered complaints about loans, mortgages and other financial products. The groups say regulators' plan would set up a government-sanctioned version of the Yelp website, where anonymous consumers can post damaging, unverified complaints about their biz. via +The Hill
The bureau’s controversial database has already tallied an estimated 400,000 consumer complaints.

Introduction

Hi! I’m a 24-year-old born and bred in Delco (Delaware County, right outside of Philly), who moved to Washington DC to report for The Hill. I like running, eating Philly food and writing. Allen Iverson is my all-time favorite athlete, Bruce and U2 are my playlist, reality TV keeps me sane.

I’ve covered South Africa politics, the Jerry Sandusky trial and profiled a Jersey Shore dude. Before The Hill, I wrote for POLITICO, and my work has appeared in places like The Daily BeastMen’s Health magazineThe Arizona Republic and Philadelphia magazine. I've appeared regularly on CBS Radio affiliates throughout the country and NPR.

I tweet here.

Follows / reposts aren't endorsements; thoughts are my own.

Got a story? I wanna tell it.
