One of our biggest aims with TartanTarmac is to help connect ordinary petrolheads like ourselves, with racing events and racing drivers throughout Scotland. To do that we needed to actually get out and speak to some of them. In the… Continue Reading →

Nice bit of Porsche motoring in Scotland here http://www.tartantarmac.com/remembering-olies-911/
We teased this video a few weeks back now, one reason for shooting was to test out Scoobycam(tm) the other was to give Olie a nice memory of his 911 after he sold it, Muppet! So anyway here it is,… Continue Reading →

Was lucky enough to work on a recent app marketing project with Miratrix where Nick brought ideas and insight that I just didn't think was possible. Using a combination of data mining, past care studies and a bit of marketing wizardry, our app store optimisation project was a success with Miratrix helping us to achieve 200% of our target installs. Can't wait to do it all again for our next project....

Visited the Bridge Dental Clinic while on holiday as I was suffering from severe wisdom tooth pain. The dentist stayed late to treat me, made me feel totally at ease, helped to ease the pain and saved my holiday. If only my dentist at he was as good!

Got some great advice from Bobby and picked up a few pieces that I'd never usually have bought and had never seen anywhere else. Will definitely be back the next time I'm down that way.

Fine dining standard service but with proper, unfussy food. Perfect for a special occasion.

Had a lovely meal and enjoyed a sunset back in 2014. Good food and a great view.

I have now given up on Tinderbox in Princes Square. For the past year, one of my friends and I have been going in to this branch of Tinderbox twice or three times a week to have coffee and sometimes a cake. The service was never good but I recently realised that the surly staff still gave us no recognition as regulars and still would say "pick-up your coffee at the end" as if we were visiting for the first time. If you visit a Starbucks more than twice they will recognise you and yet the uninterested staff in Tinderbox can't do this in over a year? 0/5 for customer service - the owner should be disciplining the manage for the poor way that the store is run. As if it isn't bad enough that the staff are so bad, I also recently realised that the cappuccinos are also quite poor. On Monday of this week I visited Tinderbox at lunch time and was then in Celino's (Alexandra Parade) at night time. The difference in the flavour of the coffee was incredible! I did not realise just how bitter and unpleasant the Tinderbox coffee was until I compared it to a lovely smooth cup. 1/5 for Tinderbox cappuccinos. The choice of non big brand coffee shops isn't great in Glasgow city centre but I'd now rather give money to Starbucks then pay the wages of the unpleasant staff in Tinderbox.

Visited Cibo e Vino last weekend and was treated to fresh meats and breads worthy of a countryside restaurant in Italy. If I lived closer then I would be in every weekend. As it is I stocked up on quite a few bits and vowed to return next time I'm near Stirling. The staff were also very friendly and knowledgeable.
