One of the most surly, unfriendly and ignorant waiters was working when we went in around noon on Saturday Feb. 8. Was completely unhelpful when asked to elaborate on the menu and ignored us once food was served. Why have him there at all?

Grand Cafe restaurant is a fine experience. Great chunky tartar, and very interesting triple mussels entree. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Ordered the mussels and fries. Got really small portion of mussels and huge portion of semi-cold fries. Also several beers in their drafts list were unavailable. Not a good dinner.

I came here for brunch. I ordered squash soup, trout and my friend ordered eggs benedict. The food was just somewhere between fair and good. The trout was cooked very well but the flavors fell flat. The soup was just ok--both the texture and flavors were unappealing. Eggs benedict had good Hollandaise sauce but one of the eggs was overcooked (not soft-boiled) and the pork was dry and chewy.

Sit at the bar for a quicker dinner, and order off the bar menu for additional food options. Service is great, food is good.
