Probably one of the numerous flows of JWT; a critical part of modern cross sites auth system used as the main SSO technique.

“There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies.” – C.A.R. Hoare, The 1980 ACM Turing Award Lecture

If the software solution is too complex, it may be because the real problem cannot be solved.

People said kerberos was too complex. So they made something even more complex.

Is SSO even possible?

Someone is using my code to get reputation instead of "me" and I am not even mad, I am flattered:
my code is pypi stat, the "parasit" is http://pypi-ranking.info

When you read your code from 3 weeks ago and you are like: WoW! But you can't understand it, then you know made a burn in, and that the burnout is going to hit hard.

I see more and more projects doing the "curl | sudo bash" method of installing something.  Not good on huge number of levels.  This is a good rant of people doing this for containers.

Yes, I know docker doesn't support signed images yet, hopefully that will happen someday...
None of these "fancy" tools still builds by a traditional make command. Every tool has to come up with their own, incomptaible, and non-portable "method of the day" of building. And since nobody is still able to compile things from scratch, everybody just downloads precompiled binaries from ...

I don't like buzzwords because they create confusion. Big data is another one that means different things for different people. The first time I heard about it was in the context of gas turbines in airplane engines: the goal was to reduce maintenance costs and warranty claim costs, improve reliability and, in a distant last place, improve safety. So selling the big data was not a goal in itself, and the bet was that the costs of acquiring and processing large amounts of data will be offset by having sufficient data to allow for changing parts less often, having data to fight warranty claims, and increased sales due to better safety and reliability. So the way I understood it, big data's economy is based on the selling of totally new types of info, that were just not possible without a lot of data. I think I see how, in some applications, this will indeed bring more profits, up to a certain point.
