Couple of months ago Michael Morton of displacer called on our community to redo some 80's TV themes. I chose Airwolf, and here it is.

Helping signal boos a friends Kickstarter project.  This will be the third adventure they've done via crowdfunding.  Currently they are about three days out and about five hundred short.  Please give it a look if you would, or share it around if you know others who may be interested.
Vincent Howard is raising funds for WishTaker: A system neutral RPG adventure for 2nd-4th level on Kickstarter! Players become involved in a rescue attempt with all the makings of a fairy tale ending--but for who? Be careful what you wish for!

Not sure if I'll see this in the theater.  But I will give it a viewing after it hits DVD for sure.  Could be a nice start to a new Vacation series... or it could be terrible and make us wish it was never made.

I tried a new approach to present information and plot hooks for our Legend of the Five Rings campaign. Our Oniwaban spent her seasonal action to map out the important factions operating in the province. Rather than a full info dump, I tried to present material in a way that's both player-facing and a little bit meta. I borrows from Cairn and The Dying Earth. I think it came out pretty well.
We're been playing our homebrew Legend of the Five Rings game for a couple of years now. It's a collaboratively-built, season action-based campaign. Because of that and how we've played L5R in the past, it veers away from the...

They actually do a full fight sequence between the two with the Green Ranger played by the original Green Ranger himself, Jason David Frank.

I swear a pretty good sized con near me knows nothing of PR or fan communication.  They had a facebook group with thousands of members, constant discussions going on almost everything was positive except for the occasion posting that somebody had passed away.

Over the last few years the fans have only butted heads with the con staff a couple of times on there.  Once over their costuming and prop weapon policy which was strict beyond all level of belief and way more than any other con out there.  Then a second time over who the staff picked to be a Fan Guest of Honor.

The first one got resolved only when Comiccon decided to have a St. Louis event and people saw how much more relaxed their costuming policy was.  The cosplay and costume folks were talking about skipping Archon altogether because of it.  So finally the staff updated and eased up on their policies.

The second one shot up after it was discovered the FGoH was the editor of a ezine that regularly published racist, sexist and hateful material.  People were especially concerned when the Media Guest of Honor was the actor from Candyman.  Quite a bit ruckus started on this and was only resolved when they pulled the person as FGoH.

So how does a con, which thrives on community support, handle this?  They pulled the plug on the group today by making it secret and kicking out all members.  Years of community building flushed down the toilet in one go.  Instead they want people to use their Facebook page which everyone knows are next to useless or some really outdated forums they put up on their site.

Yeah talk about not having a clue about PR at all.  Two disagreements and you toss a big middle finger to the people who attend (and thus pay for) the con.

For those who want to know.  Tomorrow I'll be going for my stress test.  Thankfully it's the physical one instead of the chemically induced, not sure I like what I've read and heard about the latter.  The good news all my blood work came back fine, even my cholesterol was in check.  So they are slowly marking off possible reasons for my enlarged heart and will hopefully be at a solution soon.

Not a Firefly fan myself (I don't dislike it just not my thing) but I figured I would pass this on so those who are may be able to get the corebook a bit cheaper.

What's an awesome game that's $10 off in hardcover this weekend? The Firefly RPG corebook, of course! Originally $49.99, the corebook is on sale for $39.99 through the MWP site. Ends on Sunday!

Oh wow, wasn't aware this was out already.  Why looking around Drivethru at the Castle Falkenstein books I checked on the main page and saw Feng Shui 2 has been released.  Sweet, although I'm going to have to add that to my wishlist to pick up in the future.

Got my print copy of Castle Falkenstein in today.  Well actually it probably came in a day or two ago but I've been busy.  Must say just with a quick glance through it looks nice.  Can't wait to get time to set down and read through it.  Heard lots of good things about the game and I'm glad to see it back in print via POD.

Well some folks have said I have a big heart.  Now I can prove it medically, of course the term they use for it is an enlarged heart.  Which I didn't know about until today.  I also learned that when your blood pressure spikes up when you have this it causes a lot of pressure in your chest and feels like a heart attack.

Which really sucks by the way.

Fortunately blood pressure medicine can help this a great deal.  So I've already got a follow up appointment with my doc after the ER doc told me very sternly to make a follow up appointment.  One thing I did learn, if you have chest pains get them checked out BEFORE your ass ends up in the ER early one morning.  So being a stubborn dumbass for the last year or two has ended up costing me a pretty good bill most likely.

I'm just glad it's someone else's turn to pay hospital bills. Sad that it's you.
