Oh geez.  Religious uproar at the local school, parents getting all outraged. All up and arms and angry.

Of course they didn't like it when I pointed out that the story being told has changed multiple times now as its gone from facebook to being interviewed by a news crew.

They also didn't like it when I pointed out that nobody has gotten a reply back from school or teacher involved yet.  They are basing their outrage based on what one student has said so far.

It's gone from.  Student punished for bringing bible to school.  Then it was added that she was reading it in the hall way.  Then she was talking about in the hallway quietly.  Then they were talking about it but not to loudly.

I would bet even money the actual story is more along the lines of 'Student was punished for being loud in the hallway and not quieting down when asked to'.  Not that I trust the local school at all (I've caught them telling lies straight to my face before and called them on it) but because I don't trust the student (or students) involved and the constant changing story they, and their parents, are telling.

Haven't shared a link to a community in a good long while.  So here is one now for all you rpg folks.  Lots of discussion here, large pool of people and good moderation.  Also they are about twelve people away from hitting 10k members.  Give them a look would you.

All sorts of modern horror gaming inspiration here.  A cult of death that has infiltrated the Dept of Corrections and gained control of the cemetery.  Using it for a source of dark power as they bleed off the souls of those lost and forgotten.  Not to mention a continuous new stream to take the place of those they've burned out.

A necromancer in a position of power is using this as a staging point for his future plans.  One point where he could raise the dead and create an army of unheard of sizes ready to shamble after the living.

Scientists with no moral beliefs using the bodies of the dead in twisted experiments.  Everything from raising the dead to soul transference.  Nothing is to sick and depraved for them to try.  This is where they get their near unlimited supply of bodies to run their tests with.

Captain America: Winter Soldier was the mad note.  I really enjoyed it and found it better than the first.  It should also completely change the Agents of SHIELD show. Glad I caught this one at the theater.

A new version of Deadlands: Doomtown.

Probably some of the best news I've heard in a long time game wise. Of course I'm also worried about how much they will change the game mechanics. The original Doomtown game play was near perfect in my opinion. There isn't much there that needs to be changed or altered. If its messed with too much then I'll most likely be giving this a pass, the blend of setting and very appropriate system is what sold me on the original. Not going to buy into a card game again based on setting alone.

New blog post taking a look at the use of the Big Game Hunter card in  #hearthstone .  It's a pretty straight forward benefit that this guy provides along with a nice cheap combo to use him in.  Sadly he's an epic so not everyone has this one.

Okay I may have to pick this one up at some point.  I remember playing the original in high school for hours on end.

from the wikipedia article on Hart Island: "The island has been used as a Union Civil War prison camp, a lunatic asylum, a tuberculosis sanatorium, potter's field, and a boys' reformatory."

later the entry mentions that the island held Nike Missiles during the Cold war ... so much dark energy potential in the place ...

Anybody know anything about Magic: The Gathering Online? Mainly wondering about the costs and how much it would set one back to get into.  Initial registration costs, costs for buying boosters, etc.

When I see people talking about #titanfall  this is what pops into my head.  Wrong game... but I think it was more fun.
